Article Overview: Numerous traditional means of promoting your item exist, and yet a brand new process with many benefits proves to be niche marketing. The old school of marketing teaches you to reach out to the masses and bring back as many sales as possible. It's about finding a huge group of buyers who are interested in one broad market, and try to sell them. By way of example, for a fast food chain, the target audience comprises all sorts of people from all stages of life.

Leveling Your Internet Competition Using Niche Marketing

Many new Internet marketers aim for large overly saturated markets that have already seen a great deal of success, then are left floundering as to why they aren't successful. The unfortunate truth is, it doesn't matter how well built your site is or how hard you work at marketing it - most marketers find it impossible to make good money from such markets. Without the knowledge, financial backing and marketing expertise there is no way to compete with big companies in these big markets.

There are websites out there that are almost printing their own money in some of the big markets like insurance, real estate and online gaming, but they have the advantages of huge staff, lots of experience, and thousands of traffic creating backlinks that keeps them at the top of the search engine results pages. Due to a large advertising budget these companies are able to make sure they are well known. This is why it's always recommended to the newbies who are trying to get into online marketing; they should target smaller markets and focus on conquering a more believable niche market first. In this article we would like to present some of the benefits of niche marketing and why we think you should choose this method.

One of the best benefits to using niche marketing is that it is the absolute best way to target the smallest audience and still make a profit. Focusing sales efforts on a narrowed customer sector can substantially reduce advertising expenses. Sales efforts will be directed entirely to folks interested in specific products and services. As a result, there will be no need for you to launch large-scale, expensive advertising campaigns that will put a dent in your budget, and as a result, your income will rise. In no time it will be easy for you to find the buyers who are seeking exactly what you have to sell, and since you'll be regarded as a specialist in your field, you'll be able to get higher fees.

Once you are established in your niche marketing campaign, you will become recognizable and unique in what you are offering, therefore eliminating some of the competition you are going up against. Of course, other people will always try to use your business idea for their own benefit, but by then you won't have any trouble convincing your clients that you were the pioneer in the field.

If your intention is to command the greatest amount of search engine traffic, niche marketing strategies can pay great dividends due to the functionality and assistance of long tail keyword searches. There are usually more than 2-3 words in this type of keyword phrase. Such strings do not foster as much competition, as they are not the subject of as many inquiries as broader search phrases. Also, whoever is searching for these keywords are already looking for your product. Being 'targeted' means they are more likely to become buyers, compared with other searchers who may just be doing research or seeking various types of information.

Apart from this, niche marketing will allow you to gain a better understanding of the market and what their needs are. In contrast, the big players aren't going to have this sort of crucial data at their disposal. Therefore, it is a good idea to begin marketing to a narrower group before growing outward to ancillary customer audiences.

To sum up, niche marketing should not be considered to be on par with a promoting method which is less significant. In terms of customers, your reach won't be as wide but your profit margins will soar.

Besides which, as you expand gradually, you will be able to consistently grab numerous alternative niche markets which have relevance to your primary niche. By doing this, you will both expand your business and also gain a wider variety of clients who are genuinely interested in the products you offer.

Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Internet Marketing Conference on SLife Internet Marketing Conference on SLife - I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways.. a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak. Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc.. Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL. There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.
Re: Hi from a Manhattan coach Re: Hi from a Manhattan coach - Hi Julie, Welcome to the forum, it's great to have you here and thank you for telling us a little about yourself. You sound like a very enthusiastic person who likes what she does and in Internet Marketing that is very important and you also sound like a 'people person' which is great. Internet Marketing is time consuming and challenging but can also be extremely rewarding and hopefully profitable. I don't know how many forums you have signed up to but this is one of the best. The support and guidance you get here is what makes it the success that it is but as I am sure you know from looking at the side bar that there are many aspects of business that are catered for here which will help you along the way, best wishes, Mal.
Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.
Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Everyone, 2009 is a new year and I'd like to create a new forum category to jazz things up! In the past, there's been some interest voiced about adding a "Social Media Marketing", "Online Marketing", "Internet Marketing" or "Online Promotion" category. I'll implement [u:1g2tv6tf]ONE[/u:1g2tv6tf] of those new categories, but can someone first tell me what the difference would be between the existing "Marketing" section and one of those new options mentioned above? Thanks
