Organize Your Internet Marketing Business Quick and Easy

It's not all that tough to make good money with an IM business. It could become second nature to you if you have a solid system. It'll take some time for you to do this: get a good, solid system in place. This will not happen within 24 hours, though. You'll quickly discover, if you don't already know it, that there's more involved to IM than saying you want to do it. Just like any other business endeavor, you have to plan, organize, and then do it. Next we'll move on to effective organizational strategies to ensure your IM biz flows smoothly and profitably.

As you put your business together and do your research, you are going to come across lots of 'must have' tools and software that will promise to help you streamline your business. You'll soon see some resources/tool, for example Quicken S/W, that are just ordinary tools you can use. Others, like keyword finders might not be as important right now.

Create a folder system for all of the different software that you want to try. Setup and organize your folders, for example: article spinning s/w, accountant software, emailing software, keyword research tools, etc. Then all you need to do is keep your downloads or sites stored, and you can play with them when you have some time. It may be a good idea to write down the s/w you investigated but maybe didn't like. That way you don't do any 'double' downloading and repeat yourself.

You need a desk, and there is no way around this.

Of course, it IS possible to get by with only your smarts and a laptop - but you really do need a desk. A desk is very helpful because you'll simply be able to maintain all your business needs there. Also, and this really is important - sitting at your desk and working on your IM business will help make you feel more like it's a real business. Your work desk just needs to let you do your job - flat surface, decent shape - good to go.

A good idea is to create a project outline before getting started. You can use your project outlines with your daily to-do lists, that way you'll maintain good momentum with your projects. Just taking a few minutes for organizing will prevent delays and loss of focus with wondering what to do next.

You will quickly see that adding some organization to your internet marketing business will help things run smoothly. Where you were once spending half your day trying to track various things, now you simply need to open a file or folder on your computer and you're ready to go. So just try to remember that if you're not being productive because you're not organized, you're only reducing your annual income.

Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.

Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Internet Marketing Conference on SLife Internet Marketing Conference on SLife - I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways.. a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak. Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc.. Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL. There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.
Re: e-Commerce and e-Payment providers Re: e-Commerce and e-Payment providers - When I came back to Japan in 1999 I sometimes used to ask my students if they would buy anything on the Internet and at that time most thought it was too risky. I'd encourage them to try by using well known sites such as Amazon.co.jp and also pointed out that using a credit card on a reputable site was safer than using it at a restaurant. I can't remember the last time I had that discussion or when the "tipping point" occurred in Japan. To answer your other question, I use Paypal for several reasons: 1. Brand familiarity 2. Easy to use 3. Free to withdraw 50,000yen+ to my Japanese bank account - a huge benefit (but maybe other systems also offer that...?) 4. Easy to cancel subscriptions On the down side, their transaction fees are quite costly, they are difficult to contact and when disputes arise you can sometimes lose even when you can prove via your tracking service that the disputed item was "delivered" to the customer's address!
