For example, people like Internet marketers can leverage twitter to set up a customer network and make more sales. Twitter is a great way to communicate with potential buyers about your products and services.

Below you will find a few of the strategies that will help you use Twitter to improve your internet marketing.

You can tweet your promotional code to strictly your followers when you create a sale price to promote. You can attract much more sales this way, because people love exclusive products and sale prices. This will also provide additional persons a motivation to follow your tweets in their own reader feeds.

When used this way, twitter is similar to a blog. The major difference is that you are only allowed to use one hundred and forty characters at a time. Next, you may want to consider offering your twitter followers a 'follower only' permanent discount. In this way, your followers list will increase exponentially.

Tweeting about your own products and projects is fantastic. If you convey to your followers that you care about your product and about them, they will be pleased. It might seem like a good idea to tweet links to your affiliates as well. But this is NOT a good idea.

If people think you are just trying to get them to visit your affiliate sites, they will begin to ignore the tweets you post about your business. The more information you give about the product you are offering, the more people will begin to trust you and may even feel compelled to purchase from you.

You don't have to offer just one kind of product or service through your Twitter feed. A wonderful means of demonstrating to people who they are purchasing from lies in offering your followers exclusive real time event coverage. In such a way, you can also increase the enthusiasm for something that you have set up. Offering a 24 hours only sale on something, for example, and then tweeting on that periodically throughout the day with updates like "only ten hours left to take advantage of my sale" drives up excitement and sales conversions.

As you can see, Twitter is an excellent resource to have in your online marketing arsenal. It is equally adept at business promotions and for social contact. If you aren't using Twitter yet, you're leaving money on the table. There are networks out there you could be tapping into, but you're not. Using twitter, you are able to develop a special personality for your firm or its services, provide better coverage of your services and goods on offer, and to endear yourself to your purchasers.

When used correctly, twitter can increase your sales conversions and bring in more profits than ever before. There is no reason to banish this service as only for social applications any more. Twitter is for people who truly have something important to share with others.

Re: Using Twitter To Double Your Traffic? - I'm sure in many cases Twitter sends more traffic than Search Engines because most people don't have good enough SE rankings to get SE traffic. But anyone can get Twitter traffic. The problem is that Twitter traffic won't convert for the most part and SE traffic will. I'd venture to say that 98% of the time getting just 100 visitors from search is better than getting 2000+ from Twitter.

Re: Social Media Works If You Do It Right... - Hi Michelle, Ah, but it seems hashtags are still being used by a lot of people - including Twitter! So I would still use them for your keywords. It's just that if you are searching for something on Twitter you can either go the #hashtag route, or do a direct search on the Twitter homepage. I guess you could use #hashtags when searching on the Twitter homepage as well! DH
