6 Irrefutable Reasons Why Working At Home In Your Own Home Based Business Makes Sense.

Do you spend a good chunk of time every night planning what you are going to wear to work tomorrow? Can you see yourself working at the same job 5 or 10 years from now? What about your boss...a leader or just a sniffling little spineless jerk? Let us consider 6 irrefutable reasons for you to start your own home based business so you can flee from your present job and work at home.

#1. You will add more hours to your day by not commuting back and forth to work. No getting stuck in morning or evening drive time traffic. This added time to your day can add to your productivity. (Also consider how much gas you will save by not having to drive to and from work every day.)

#2. No people related disturbances to your day: no water cooler chats, no one leaning over your cubicle wall to relate an email joke just received, no boss to drop something on your desk demanding it be completed immediately, etc. (Do not think that just because you work at home that you can multi-task by building your home business and also watching your children. Put this under your "people disturbance" column and continue with the same babysitter arrangements you had when you worked in an office, out of your home.)

#3. No work clothes expense (or spending time deciding what to wear to the office). How much money do you spend on clothes to wear to work? And, how much time do you spend each night deciding what to wear to the office the next day? Working at home, does it really make a difference what you are wearing?

#4. In a home business environment, you can regulate the temperature as well as the type of noises and lighting that surround you. In an office, the heat may be turned down to just above the teeth chattering level. And that repetitive office music...how many times can one human being listen to Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head playing over and over and over. Working at home, ah, the sound of silence.

#5. Freedom to set your own hours. If you would like to take a prospect to an extended lunch/business presentation there is no one looking over your shoulder telling you it is time to return to work. THIS is your work. (Likewise if you wanted to work during the night, it is your home and your home business.)

#6. The best reason I can think of for working at home in your own home based business: the effort that you put in will determine the results you get out of it. When you work for someone else, you are a cog keeping your company's corporate wheel turning...when you work at your own business your financial rewards are a direct relationship to the effort you put into it.

You have probably looked into starting your own home based business before but something always prevents you from jumping into it. Perhaps it is fear...the fear of being on your own, the fear of failure, the fear of lacking what it takes to be successful, etc. Working at home will certainly jettison you out of your comfort-zone, paycheck mentality. But when you realize that one-half of all businesses are home based businesses, you will be in good company.

Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? Re: Trade Shows - Are They Worth It? - HI, I have used trade shows (not participated) to collect potential clients. For example, the Home & Garden Industry is extremely behind the time in regards to their websites. I attended an Home & Garden Expo in Denver and collected all the companies contact information. I plan on cold calling & mailing information to each business. It also gave me time to research the industry more, talk directly to the owners in many cases, and learn more about what they need. Jeff
