Beware Of The Network Marketing Time Snatchers.

Guest post by: Andy Acciaioli

Article Overview: There are numerous distractions all around you which prevent you from giving your total attention to your network marketing business. These distractions are the greatest cause of wasted time and energy. To build a successful mlm / home based business, you must learn how to deal with anything or anyone draining your time from your business.

Beware Of The Network Marketing Time Snatchers.

I have found there are two types of time distractions: our surroundings and our own team members.

Our surroundings could be a distraction by robbing us of the time we intend to spend on building our businesses. Let me give you an example: suppose you are building your network marketing business part-time while working a full time job. You allocate two hours each night after dinner to working the business (making calls, writing articles, marketing through social media, etc.). Unfortunately you hit a lot of traffic and arrive home an hour later than anticipated. You are frazzled and by the time you have dinner you feel it is too late to start to work your business so you push it off to tomorrow night.

Another major distraction is once we are online attempting to market through social media, an email may catch our attention. Or someone sends an interesting Tweet and we decide to follow the link. Or one of our Facebook friends initiates an online chat. Can you hear the time being sucked right out of your night?

Distractions in your surroundings are easy to fix. Check your email by reading the subject line. If it is not something relevant to your business, do not open it. Turn your chat off when you are on your social media account(s). Do not follow any links that may catch your eye as you can do this later after you have given your business the attention it deserves.

The greatest distraction of all: your team members. Right from when a new team member joins your group, you have to set the tone that he/she must respect your time. This is not to say that you avoid contact with team members…this is, after all a person-to-person business. However, we are not a babysitting service. Once a team member is trained and up and running, your spoon feeding days are over. The relationship must enter the growing phase. Part of this growth is to build your team member’s confidence level that they can successfully run their business on their own with guidance from you if requested/needed.

Let me give you an example of a team member time snatcher from my recent past. I would receive frequent calls from an over the internet, personally sponsored team member. These calls tended to be frivolous: nothing to do with the business usually asking what the weather was in my area. I held my tongue but what I wanted to say, for the love of God, do you think I am Al Rocker. Obviously this person did not respect my time which could have been better spent talking with others on my team who were working their businesses. As you can imagine, I can go on and on but I will leave it at that. He did not last very long in the business and in the short time since leaving our business he has managed to get involved with a number of other network marketing companies. I sincerely hope one day he finds his niche if he has not already.

This is no direct correlation between time spent with a team member and their operating a successful business within your business. Look for those self-starters who will treat your time as a precious commodity and not want to snatch it away from you…just as they do not want their time needlessly snatched away from them.

Why do people hate Network Marketing / MLM? Why do people hate Network Marketing / MLM? - I've been looking at a number of different opportunities and end up meeting a lot of Network Marketing / Multi-Level Marketing people. Some of the offers look interesting but everyone I talk to about it says to avoid these guys like the plague - what's the deal? Why do people hate network marketers and MLM people so much? Is it not legit?
Re: MLM Marketing, youtube, and buzzirk mobile. Re: MLM Marketing, youtube, and buzzirk mobile. - I have experience with MLM too. My initial reaction to the business was "snake-oil salesman" but once I got to understand the "overall business model" I am now an advocate to it. MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) is also known as Network Marketing. I realized an MLM business is no different than any other business. One needs to focus on both words "Network" and "Marketing" and give both equal respect. Some people focus heavily on the Networking part but forget "Marketing". I've started to use Building on a Budget and Magnetic Sponsoring concepts in my NM business and have found that people don't get involved so much because of the product but more because of what you bring to the table as far as marketing systems and support. I have both products listed in my signature. you don't have to buy it as the link to the free videos itself provides you a good understanding of what is required to position yourself as my above paragraph. If you do plan on purchasing it I can tell you that the measly $40 will open your eyes BUT your upline will not be too happy (atleast in the short term) beacuse the system is not duplicateable. I wrote this post as a polar post to Bulmer's reply as I have exhausted the friends and family networking and realized i never really focused on marketing. My leads now are more qualified and open to hearing about my opportunity than the other way around. my 2 cents if you plan on growing an MLM or Networking Marketing business.

10 best franchises to get involved 10 best franchises to get involved - My advice is: 1) Go to the library and start reading business books (accounting, finance, etc.) 2) Go to your local community college and enroll in night classes 3) Join the local Chamber of Commerce 4) Network / Network / Network -- through the above sources. Once you have spent two years doing the above, then look for a 55 - 60 year old business person that is looking to reduce their time in the business. Then you can work on a sweetheart financing option.
Re: answer this question Re: answer this question - This is a good topic. I haven't done anything, yet, to seriously damage my business. I did shift gear though. It was the best decision I ever made. For me, affiliate marketing was not working. Making the switch to Network Marketing made all the difference.
