Set Realistic Goals In Building Your Network Marketing Business
|
| Guest post by: Andy Acciaioli |
Article Overview: The problem most of us face when starting a network marketing business is that we expect too much from ourselves. We set unrealistic and oftentimes unattainable goals. A key to your success in developing a successful network marketing strategy is simple: be realistic and set your initial goals low enough to achieve them.

Set Realistic Goals In Building Your Network Marketing Business
We set goals. And when we fail to reach these goals we become discouraged and decide it is not worth attempting to reach these goals as we probably cannot achieve them anyway.
The problem is not in setting goals. The problem is that we set unrealistically high goals that are difficult to reach and then we quit trying.
The solution is relatively simple: establish goals which are easily attainable at first and then more difficult to attain later.
For example, if you are just starting out in network marketing, it is unrealistic for most of us to sponsor two new representatives each week. Perhaps a more attainable level of sponsorship would be one new representative each month. Perhaps this is even too high when you are just starting out. Focus on sponsoring one new representative during your first sixty days in your new business. And, if you are unable to do this, reset the goal to one new representative in ninety days.
Apply the same basic principles to the marketing of your network marketing business. If you decide to market your business on Facebook, do not plan on making thousands of new friends each month. Set a goal of two hundred fifty new friends a month. As you achieve this, you can always increase your monthly totals to three, four or five hundred Facebook friendships.
Same thing applies to Twitter. We have all seen Twitter accounts with thirty or fifty thousand followers. And we are eager to hit those number of followers for ourselves as well. Again, being realistic, we have to start somewhere. Why not shoot for two hundred fifty the first month and then bump that up to five or six hundred the second month. A few months later you too will have several thousand followers which you will have accomplished by attaining smaller goals along the way.
By your setting unreachable, unachievable goals you are setting yourself up for failure. Small, attainable goals will lead to your success as well as to the success of others in your group that you train to establish similar goals.
Remember the expression: inch by inch life's a cinch, yard by yard life's hard. It applies to your network marketing business as well.
