How To Choose The Best Network Marketing Company, Part 3: Who says No or Yes?

“The company should also be selective in choosing or not choosing you to join their network marketing opportunity!”

That was the essence of the closing line in Part 2 of this article series, and writing that statement coincided with a great conversation with a new team member. He confided that his skepticism raised steadily as each network marketing company he researched and talked with were all eager for him to join! It actually made him nervous and doubtful about the legitimacy of the companies, though surely that was not their intent.

The bottom line is, a network marketing company should be as selective and careful about choosingyouto join their opportunity, as you are being selective and careful about choosingthem! Partnering in any business should be a two-way road. Here are 4 recruiting tactics that a good recruiter/team leader should exhibit with you:

#1. A network marketing company is an established business community and they should be interviewing you to establish if your beliefs, goals and skill sets are a good fit with their goals and needs. Many companies do have a total open door policy, however, this is a slippery slope and often leads to a very high attrition rate. A strong network marketing company is looking for more than just warm bodies! They are looking for like-minded entrepreneurs.

#2. A network marketing company should interview you about your background and probe to find out how teachable you are. Being teachable, enthusiastic and having the mindset of an entrepreneur is a strong indication that you can successful bring your skill set into their training program and learn the marketing skills their system is designed for.

#3. A network marketing company should be focused on strong team building and training within their business community. Therefore the recruiter/team leader should exhibit selectivity in who is brought into the team and not afraid to say “no” if they do not see the potential for success, or it is simply not a good fit for you or them. After all, the team leader is deciding if it will be worth the time and money investment to take on the extensive training you will need.

#4. A network marketing company should first ask you questions to find out more about you, rather than first giving you a hard sell on the company, the opportunity and the products. It should not be their job to convince or sell you, but instead to give you information about the company and opportunity, to impart their commitment and enthusiasm, and to direct you to the resources where you can learn even more. They should expect you to do your homework in thoroughly researching their company and ultimately “to sell yourself” on the value and strength of the opportunity.

Take your time and choose well, and be heartened when a network marketing company is also being selective. You will both know when the fit is good!

Why do people hate Network Marketing / MLM? Why do people hate Network Marketing / MLM? - I've been looking at a number of different opportunities and end up meeting a lot of Network Marketing / Multi-Level Marketing people. Some of the offers look interesting but everyone I talk to about it says to avoid these guys like the plague - what's the deal? Why do people hate network marketers and MLM people so much? Is it not legit?
Re: MLM Marketing, youtube, and buzzirk mobile. Re: MLM Marketing, youtube, and buzzirk mobile. - I have experience with MLM too. My initial reaction to the business was "snake-oil salesman" but once I got to understand the "overall business model" I am now an advocate to it. MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) is also known as Network Marketing. I realized an MLM business is no different than any other business. One needs to focus on both words "Network" and "Marketing" and give both equal respect. Some people focus heavily on the Networking part but forget "Marketing". I've started to use Building on a Budget and Magnetic Sponsoring concepts in my NM business and have found that people don't get involved so much because of the product but more because of what you bring to the table as far as marketing systems and support. I have both products listed in my signature. you don't have to buy it as the link to the free videos itself provides you a good understanding of what is required to position yourself as my above paragraph. If you do plan on purchasing it I can tell you that the measly $40 will open your eyes BUT your upline will not be too happy (atleast in the short term) beacuse the system is not duplicateable. I wrote this post as a polar post to Bulmer's reply as I have exhausted the friends and family networking and realized i never really focused on marketing. My leads now are more qualified and open to hearing about my opportunity than the other way around. my 2 cents if you plan on growing an MLM or Networking Marketing business.
Network Marketing Business Network Marketing Business - Hello all, Recently, I had join a Network Marketing Business on a part-time basis. Does anyone here who has some knowledge on this type of business? I want to learn as fast as I can from all the gurus here
10 best franchises to get involved 10 best franchises to get involved - My advice is: 1) Go to the library and start reading business books (accounting, finance, etc.) 2) Go to your local community college and enroll in night classes 3) Join the local Chamber of Commerce 4) Network / Network / Network -- through the above sources. Once you have spent two years doing the above, then look for a 55 - 60 year old business person that is looking to reduce their time in the business. Then you can work on a sweetheart financing option.
Re: answer this question Re: answer this question - This is a good topic. I haven't done anything, yet, to seriously damage my business. I did shift gear though. It was the best decision I ever made. For me, affiliate marketing was not working. Making the switch to Network Marketing made all the difference.
