Oh You Love Amazon but They Have a Big Secret

If you've used Amazon, like I have, then you probably love this website. Amazon can manage to get goods to your house so quickly that it almost seems like magic at times. Their regional delivery centers combined with a fluid interface between their web ordering software and their warehouses make them a well-oiled machine.

Internet marketers love Amazon due to their commission structure. You name it and Amazon sells it. In fact, I frequently find things on Amazon that leave me scratching my head.

The fact that Amazon has so many different items for sale means that any Internet marketer is likely to find a way to successfully make a buck from Amazon's commission system.

Part of the reason that Amazon has been so successful with this commission system is that Amazon is liberal. This factor is somewhat reminiscent of Google Adwords. Amazon will give almost anyone a chance to make a dollar in their program.

Yet as great and as brilliantly designed as Amazon may be, there is a little problem that they will never tell you about. Namely, that problem is that you have a better chance of winning the lottery, than you do getting a live person on the phone to answer a question.

Sadly this is a true fact. Amazon just won't let you talk to a real living breathing person. Depending upon your problem and your personality type, this might be a little tough to tolerate.

For example, imagine that you are an eighty-six year old woman who can still remember quality service and people answering the phone when you call. For that customer not being able to get a human being on the other end of the phone would seem ridiculous.

Not being able to reach a human is stressful, but it shouldn't dissuade Internet marketers from potentially using Amazon. Stress can clearly cloud our judgment. I have found that there are good ways around it. Mediation and yoga have helped me greatly in dealing with my stress.

Back in 2007, I lost my job as a mortgage broker when the housing market fell off one of the steepest cliffs in history. Then I lost my car and before I knew it I was starting over from scratch.

I was able to us meditation and yoga to keep my mind centered. In the process, I remembered not get stressed over the little things like not being able to get an Amazon representative on the phone.

This is an important point. Keeping your cool will help you spot opportunities, which in turn will help you make money. I firmly believe that the world is full of opportunities and how one finds them is by staying level headed.

So don't worry about not being able to get an Amazon representative on the phone. Worry more about how you can make money by working with them through Internet marketing!

Reviews Reviews - There are definite flaws in the review system and Amazon is a big one. I like to read the reviews on Amazon, but when a review is overly good or overly bad, I click on the reviewer's name and look at their other reviews. That gives me an idea of whether they bash or praise everything or if there is merit to it. There are too many people paying for reviews and then picking the best to post. I prefer a review from a consumer who will give an honest review. I have no interest in getting the "top Amazon" reviewers to review my books. Actually, I don't push for Amazon reviews like I probably should, but I've seen far too much abuse on the reviews. Shri
Re: I'm Published On Kindle! Re: I'm Published On Kindle! - Thanks everybody! @Yinka: Go to Amazon.com, scroll down to the bottom and click "Self-publish with Us" then follow the instructions. I remember you wrote an ebook a while ago. That would be just fine. You will need a US dollar account to cash the cheques from Amazon.com and a UK pound stirling account if you opt to publish on Amazon.co.uk as well.
Some online business suggstions debunked Some online business suggstions debunked - 2. Sell photos on stock photography sites --- I tried this, couldn't even get in the front door. But then, I'm apparently a lousy photographer... However, if you do get in, I think you only get something like 25 cents a download... 8. Build services atop Amazon Web Services ---I've been an Amazon associate for a loooong time, selling books, and business has been lousy since the beginning. Nobody reads anymore...I do get a few DVD sales every now and again... but frankly I make much more money though Google Ads on my site. It took several months for that to build up, but now as my website has more readers those ads are starting to pay off, whereas there's been no corresponding jump from Amazon ads on the same pages...

However, I always thought books and DVDs were the best selling items on the web since they're relatively inexpensive and consumers know exactly what they're getting (unlike clothing and electronics that need to be "tested"). I think a lot of people still read books, but they just prefer to buy in-store or from Chapters.indigo.ca or Amazon.com/ca rather than from an associate. In fact, a lot of people I know still feel uncomfortable making purchases on the web.
Victoria's Secret - Too Sexy? Victoria's Secret - Too Sexy? - This will be upsetting for some men. I just heard a report about Victoria's Secret and it was interesting. Their sales were down drastically in the 4th quarter of 2007 and the report was about how they are thinking the company has gotten too far away from the heritage that made it the blockbuster company it is. They are thinking the ads etc have become too sexy and the plan (at the moment) is to make the ads more sophisticated. That would be like the Super Bowl commercial which was very tasteful, but very different from any Victoria's Secret I've seen lately. Who do you all think the current sexy ads are targeting? I think its the men that they hope will buy these items for their female significant others. I hate to give Omarosa any kudos - but most women aren't "sold" on an item by an ad of a near naked sexy woman. Shri
