If you want to start up a blog on the cheap, then you should learn more about Wordpress. In fact, if you are without web design skills or the budget for a web designer of any kind, then Wordpress could be one of your most productive tools.
The reason that Wordpress is so great for those without web skills or a web budget is that the site allows novices to instantly get a web page up and running. This is the real brilliance of Wordpress.
Being able to have a webpage up and running without any money or real web skills is a feat that really shouldn't be ignored. For this reason, Wordpress is a marvelous tool for any Internet marketer or entrepreneur.
Further, the search engine optimization in Wordpress is top-notch. This means that your site will pop up high in search engine results.
Yet, there is a downside to Wordpress. First of all, you should know that the free version of Wordpress does not allow you to post any kind of ads. If you want to post ads, you will need to use Wordpress.org and pay to have your website hosted. Additional requirements will likely mean that you will have to find a web designer.
Yet even with this downside, there is no denying that Wordpress is a great tool for any Internet marketer in general. This is especially true due to their great search engine optimization. The site can also be effectively used to drive traffic to other sites that you set up as well.
I can deeply appreciate the value of a site like Wordpress as it is all about helping people achieve their dreams. I have gained financial security through using the tools the Internet provides, and I have done so since 2007. This has sparked many people to ask me for my trick.
A big part of my success resides in the fact that I have been able to make the most of the tools at hand. Of course, that is only part of the equation. The fact that I was a yoga instructor for years was also very useful, as I knew how to center myself and stay calm.

- Blogger is a good place to start blogging simply because it is so easy to set up a blog and go.
However, Wordpress has a lot more to offer. I recently set up a membership site in about five minutes flat on a Wordpress blog on one of my websites. I haven't had time to develop it yet, but the point is, you can do that sort of thing on Wordpress but not on Blogger. That is just one example of the versatility of Wordpress.

GT, that's very possible. I can believe that their blog would get shut down over too many affiliate links. Does Wordpress specifically have terms about this, though? I have a self-hosted Wordpress blog, and since it's on your own server, you have complete control over it. There is no one to tell you what you can and can't do with it. A Wordpress-hosted blog, however, would be under Wordpress's terms of service. That would be interesting to know since I was considering starting a blog on Wordpress.

It's time for me to get serious about a blog - which I have definitely been resisting. I've read some posts here in the forum that suggests Wordpress Blog is the best and it's interactive. I am currently set up on blogpspot.com but haven't been active for a long time, so it's not problem for me to switch. Where do I begin with Wordpress and after I make a blog post can anyone comment back? Can I monitor the comments? How is Wordpress different or better than blogspot.com?

- I agree that anybody thinking about starting a Wordpress blog should buy a domain name and set up a hosting account.
When choosing a hosting account, make sure it is one that is set up for Wordpress and includes an easy installation script such as "Simple Scripts".
Two web hosts I'd particularly recommend for Wordpress are Bluehost and Hostgator.
Blogger Vs Wordpress?

I have around 12 or 13 blogs. Most of which I host on my own server so I can use Wordpress.
Was wondering if anyone else had pros or cons on Blogger or Wordpress?
I happen to really like Wordpress because of all the plugins and themes you can use.
I happen to dislike Blogger because of the limited themes & layouts. Also it is a pain in the rear to do a split blog post, where you can have a small part of the article showing with a 'read more' link for the rest.
I do like the fact that on Blogger my blogs get picked up quicker by google. Go figure, since they own Blogger it isn't surprising.
Any positives or negatives on either one?
