There is a Big Problem with Your Quantcast Ratings

There is a Big Problem with Your Quantcast Ratings

Quantcast is an Internet tool somewhat reminiscent of Alexa in that it is designed to rank Internet traffic. However, while both services rank traffic that is really where much of the similarity ends. While Alexa requires users to install its Alexa toolbar on their browsers, Quantcast, by contrast, wants websites to install its software on their respective sites.

The differences in approach have a variety of implications. For Internet marketers, Quantcast can most definitely be used to give yourself a good idea of how many people are visiting your page and what they are doing. However, your Quantcast number may most definitely be misleading.

Obviously not every website has Quantcast software installed on its site. And here resides the problem with Quantcast. While Quantcast does a simply great job of tracking information on users when the Quantcast software is present, it has one glaring hole. Only a fraction of sites actually use the Quantcast software. This means that Quantcast's rankings can be wildly inaccurate.

If you don't opt into the Quantcast system, it is thus possible (if not even somewhat likely) that the ranking for your site will be very inaccurate. If you do not install Quantcast's software on your site, they are left with no choice other than guessing on your ranking based on other criteria.

Now if you are dependant upon advertisers for your site's revenue, you could have a real problem. Further, it is vitally important that you understand exactly how Quantcast works and do not take their ranking too seriously. This is especially true if you are not using their software.

It would be very easy for an Internet marketer or Internet entrepreneur to become stressed out over a low Quantcast ranking, but this would be a mistake. Taking the time and learning all the facts before reacting is something that I needed to be when I faced my own serious challenges.

Back in 2007, I saw both of my successful real estate businesses fall prey to the real estate collapse. But I was able to stay calm. People often ask me how I was able to stay so calm in light of the fact that I lost everything. Thinking back, I feel that it was the ability to center my thoughts and stay calm that helped carry me through.

I learned these skills through my years of yoga and meditation. Luckily, these are both skills that can be practiced, learned and improved upon. I believe that these ancient practices can help you as well.

How to get financed - We looked at doing the same thing. Problem is you own the truck out-rite, so most require a add on to your title or release of title to them for liability should you default.
