Social Media Marketing - 7 Ways to Explode Your Authority

1. Add a minimum of 100 targeted Twitter followers each day
These should be targeted followers that you have something in common with. Add people that is interested in what you have to say and could be potential prospects, customers or entrepreneurs to network with.

2. Respond promptly to all @replies
When people send you a personal reply on Twitter you should always respond as quickly as possible. Starting these kind of engaging conversations ca lead to new business relationships.

3. Make your tweets valuable to the reader
Constantly pitching their product or opportunity is the biggest mistake most new Twitter users make. This is a absolute NO-NO in social media and it's a huge turn off for your followers. You should focus on building true followers who are loyal, and interested in what you have to say. This is accomplished by posting tweets that are value packed. Post something your grandmother would be proud to read!

4. Add targeted Facebook friends
By adding targeted friends on Facebook each day, you will rapidly grow your network and be a authority on the fourth highest traffic site online. Make sure each friend is high quality and a person that can be a potential customer or partner.

5. Engage with your Facebook friends
When you start to explode your friend list like this, it is time to interact with your new friends. Make at least 20 Facebook engagements each day. Respond or welcome your new friend. Again DO NOT pitch your product or opportunity!

6. Facebook wall posts
Wall post is a very effective way to establish yourself as a authority and to increase your visibility on Facebook. Make posts on targeted profiles. Comment on something another person just said or create conversations. This will really increase your value to your friends and to the community.

7. Join Facebook groups in your niche
Joining groups and engage in conversation with others group members is also a great way to establish yourself as a leader and a authority.

I will tell you that the world is about 1 1/2 behind when it comes to understanding social media. Building a section now will put EvanCarmichael.com is a great position a year down the road when people realize Social Media can produce more traffic than SEO. Jeff

Re: Should Evan add a "Social Media Marketing" category to the f Re: Should Evan add a "Social Media Marketing" category to the f - Hi, Online Marketing would be a great title, and having sub categories would make it even better, there would plenty of categories to choose from, Social Media, SEO, Article Marketing and yes even Affiliate Marketing to name just a few, great looking site btw Jeff, take care, Carol
Re: Should Evan add a "Social Media Marketing" category to the f Re: Should Evan add a "Social Media Marketing" category to the f - Just as an update, Evan has extended the poll's expiration date and says he'd like to see at least 25 "yes" votes before implementing the new category. Moreover, it would probably be called "Online Marketing" instead of Social Media Marketing".
Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Everyone, 2009 is a new year and I'd like to create a new forum category to jazz things up! In the past, there's been some interest voiced about adding a "Social Media Marketing", "Online Marketing", "Internet Marketing" or "Online Promotion" category. I'll implement [u:1g2tv6tf]ONE[/u:1g2tv6tf] of those new categories, but can someone first tell me what the difference would be between the existing "Marketing" section and one of those new options mentioned above? Thanks
