What is the meaning of leadership? Leadership call be described as a way of leading or described as an ability to change human behavior to achieve goals. It can also be considered as an extraordinary quality to have. Someone having this quality can easily navigate other people. This quality can have the ability to inspire or to influence many people. Leadership can be developed by training, studying, or from experience. If you are the boss, doesn't mean that you are the leader. A boss simply manages the tasks that they are giving. Leaders influence the workers to want to achieve the tasks on their own. They apply values and beliefs behind their work. They motive employees to do the work and to work as a team. Good leadership is someone who has the character of giving selflessly. People want to follow leaders that are trustworthy.

Leadership can also be in the person's personality. Sometime it might just arise in a serious event. You might not even know you had it in you until you really need it. A way to improve your leadership is to do self-improvements. Take on the responsibilities. Find ways to make your business run smoother. Don't find someone to blame when something goes wrong. Take care of your employees and put them in the best position for them. Figure out what their best quality is and position them there.

As a leader you have to make decisions rather quickly. Be very sure of your decisions. Don't show fear or hesitations.

Re: Business Women Peer Mentoring Spotlight - Hi Everyone, Gosh, I REALLY appreciate your concrete feedback. This was far more than I expected and I'm glad you said what you thought straight out. Each of you have shared something of value and I want to take some more time to think and really go over what each of you have said. However, I can see there are some things I need to change right away. What an interesting point about a NEW program perhaps making people think they are guinea pigs! This is NOT what I want to convey! It's funny how we can see some things so clearly in others while not always seeing it for ourselves! I must admit there are a few things I've been meaning to change (like my bio which is very outdated). Obviously, these things need to be higher on my priority list. You caught me like the plumber who puts his clients first and doesn't get around to fixing his own tap! As far as my target market, I do feel quite strongly about working with Women Leaders and doing Leadership Coaching with them. It's non-negotiable in my books. In my Executive Coaching training, the terms "Leaders" and "Executives" are interchangable. To me, an Executive is a Leader and so is the Business Woman or Entrepreneur who is CEO of her own business. I love working with decision makers! What I did learn is that I need to avoid opening up the Leadership term beyond what I described above. I'm also wondering if there is a misunderstanding with the general public as to what Leadership Coaching really is. Leadership Coaching is all about developing your leadership skills, both as a people manager and in more effectively running and growing the business. There is ALWAYS room for growth in some way. As well, sometimes, we just need a sounding board to clarify what our next BEST step is. In fact, if a woman thinks she has nothing to work on, then we aren't a good Client/Coach fit anyway. How can she grow if she doesn't see the value of expressing ALL of the great ability within her? How can her company grow if she doesn't see the value of strategic planning for the next best level? Thanks again to you all! I will go back to my website and really question whether I am conveying the right message. I got more than I bargained for in this Spotlight... you generously offered way more than I was asking. I think we could be on to something great for the Forum. Re: That First Customer! - Hey Tristan, Another thing to consider is to think about how targeted your visitors are. Meaning, are they actually looking for what you have to offer, and if so, are they finding it. Proper keyword research and testing will help you bring in targeted leads from the search engines. I think this will help you get that first customer and keep bringing in more and more customers.

Going Global - johnburns - Do you have all the "accounting" done for these territories? Meaning, do you have an established price point? Who is going to pay the set-up fees? Who is responsible for the registration fees, etc.? Are you willing to pay for it out of the "cost" of the territory, or increase the cost by those factors?
Re: Twitter, Social Networking: What's Your method? - I still have yet to jump on the Twitter bandwagon. I see it talked about EVERYWHERE all the time, so I know I am probably missing out on something, but I just can't see the point in it. I've thought about signing up just to check it out for myself. Maybe I will do that now that I took the time to write this. Does anyone actually get traffic from Twitter that is worth spending all the time on there? Meaning does it convert into money in some way, or is it just traffic for the sake of getting traffic?
