#1 Reason for Network Marketing Success - Part Two

In my last article -- part one of my Personal Branding series -- I talked about my revelation regarding what makes the top network marketing income earners successful. I revealed that after pulling my hair out trying to figure out what the one element was that made them so successful, the secret finally revealed itself. And that secret is Personal Branding and Positioning. In this article, I will discuss the first step towards building your personal brand and positioning yourself as a leader and an authority in the network marketing industry -- even if you are not experiencing the "success" you desire at this point.

People don't necessarily want to join a business so much as they want to follow a leader. Using your company's replicated landing pages and websites just isn't going to cut it anymore on today's internet.

Here is what most people are truly looking for:

1. They want to work with someone they like and trust.

2. They want to work with someone they view as an authority and leader (this is called positioning).

As I revealed in my last article, the good news is that you don't have to be a top income producer to be viewed as someone who is an authority, leader, and who is successful. Your success in this industry is dependent upon how successful your are perceived to be. I am not talking about lying or even exaggerating the truth. Read on.

Success is a relative term. You have some elements of "success" to offer someone right now, right where you're at. There is currently someone out there on the internet who is waiting to join and work with you.

Why? Because your story is just like theirs.

Have you failed at several MLM opportunities and now you have found one you believe will be your ticket to success? Are you a single parent, working full time and found an online business opportunity that you just know in your heart is the vehicle to financial freedom? No matter what your story is, there is someone out there right now who is in the exact same situation that you are (or were) in. That is who your targeted audience should be and the person you should direct all of your writing towards. This is what will give you your edge in marketing.

In fact, in all of your branding and positioning content, you should write so your targeted prospect is thinking:This person is just is just like me.

It's OK that you are not where you want to be -- you will get there. Here is the first step we will take towards branding yourself as an industry leader. You can think of it as a little bit of homework. This is a vital step, so don't skip it!

1. Find all of the top income earners you can. Usually, you can just look at the top income earners' websites from within your own company. Or, just google "top internet marketing gurus list" and look at some of the directories to find their websites.

2. Get out a piece of paper and in one column, write down all of the qualities you see in these top earners. Here are some examples: determined, consistent, no-excuses, focused, millionaire mindset, positive, etc.

3. In another column, write down all of the qualities you see in yourself. This is the time to be painfully honest with yourself. The more honest you are with yourself, the more you will get out of this exercise. (Just trust me on this).

4. Compare the two columns and ponder the differences. Don't feel bad. Believe me, when we are finished with all of the steps of discovering your "brand", you will feel a whole lot better about yourself. You will have a clear understanding of where you are going and who you are becoming in the process!

5. In a third column, write down all of the qualities that you want to have. This is who you want to be. Obviously, it should contain some of the qualities of the top earners. From this point forward, this new set of qualities is your new character.

Focus and meditate on this new character. From now on, in all of your internet marketing -- whether it be copy-writing, ad writing, talking with people, emailing people -- do it from the perspective of your new character. Over time you will become more and more of that character as you continue to focus on your new qualities and put them into practice.

It is the "new you" -- not who you happen to be right now -- that people are going to see as a leader, authority, and success story. You are never going to be lying about who you are because: You are being the person you want to be and will be in the future. You are just being the new you, now, at this point in time.

This is the very foundation of creating your personal brand and as we move forward with beginning to create your branding content, you will be doing it from your new character.

In my next article, I will cover the exact steps required to creating killer personal branding content on your website or blog so that the whole world will view you as a leader!

Why do people hate Network Marketing / MLM? Why do people hate Network Marketing / MLM? - I've been looking at a number of different opportunities and end up meeting a lot of Network Marketing / Multi-Level Marketing people. Some of the offers look interesting but everyone I talk to about it says to avoid these guys like the plague - what's the deal? Why do people hate network marketers and MLM people so much? Is it not legit?
Re: MLM Marketing, youtube, and buzzirk mobile. Re: MLM Marketing, youtube, and buzzirk mobile. - I have experience with MLM too. My initial reaction to the business was "snake-oil salesman" but once I got to understand the "overall business model" I am now an advocate to it. MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) is also known as Network Marketing. I realized an MLM business is no different than any other business. One needs to focus on both words "Network" and "Marketing" and give both equal respect. Some people focus heavily on the Networking part but forget "Marketing". I've started to use Building on a Budget and Magnetic Sponsoring concepts in my NM business and have found that people don't get involved so much because of the product but more because of what you bring to the table as far as marketing systems and support. I have both products listed in my signature. you don't have to buy it as the link to the free videos itself provides you a good understanding of what is required to position yourself as my above paragraph. If you do plan on purchasing it I can tell you that the measly $40 will open your eyes BUT your upline will not be too happy (atleast in the short term) beacuse the system is not duplicateable. I wrote this post as a polar post to Bulmer's reply as I have exhausted the friends and family networking and realized i never really focused on marketing. My leads now are more qualified and open to hearing about my opportunity than the other way around. my 2 cents if you plan on growing an MLM or Networking Marketing business.
Network Marketing Business Network Marketing Business - Hello all, Recently, I had join a Network Marketing Business on a part-time basis. Does anyone here who has some knowledge on this type of business? I want to learn as fast as I can from all the gurus here
10 best franchises to get involved 10 best franchises to get involved - My advice is: 1) Go to the library and start reading business books (accounting, finance, etc.) 2) Go to your local community college and enroll in night classes 3) Join the local Chamber of Commerce 4) Network / Network / Network -- through the above sources. Once you have spent two years doing the above, then look for a 55 - 60 year old business person that is looking to reduce their time in the business. Then you can work on a sweetheart financing option.
