There are a lot of golden ideas out there that one can follow to create a home business that is more than viable. The tricky part however, comes in getting success out of your home business. All the online sites will tell you that this is a good home business idea or that is a good idea but that is about all they do. None of them ever tell you how to tailor fit it to you once they have given you ideas for making your own home based business.

The first thing that you will have to think about if you want to get success out of your home business is location. A lot of people will think ‘but the location is my home!' True, but you will yet again have to find the suitable location within your own home. Think about whether you are going to need equipment and where it would fit. Think about storage and workspace. Are you going to have employees? Make sure that the location you choose will take into consideration all the above factors.

If you want success out of your home business, you will have to believe that it will succeed. If you believe that it will succeed, you therefore you have to think about expansion. You always have to look ahead and see in what way you are going to be able to expand the business. Will you need a secretary? If so, she cannot run her duties from your personal bedroom can she? If you need to buy printers and any other installments you always have to think of where they will go.

Another secret to owning success out of your home business is to keep a tight focus on the budget. When a lot of home-based businesses begin to see profits trickling in, the owners sometimes become fuzzy eyed with the money. They begin to blow more money than they should with the excuse that they do not have to pay for their overheads. All this extra money that they are no longer spending on renting an office or commuting to work is taken as spending money to them. The business budget is therefore constrained and before they know it, the expansions that they had in mind have not taken place at all. They are in the same hand to mouth type of situation they were in the beginning.

To get success out of your home business, you are going to have to realize that you do not have to actually stay within your home at all times. The internet is not where it all ends. You are going to have to take your promotions outside physically. Take advantage of print media around your area for it still works. You are also not banned from having your own events or conferences. You may be a home based business but you have to also think like a brick and mortar one. Therein, lies your success.

Using your home for collateral is one thing, but... - Putting up your home for collateral is one thing, but utilizing the equity in it to finance a business is a whole other ball game and could be damaging in the long run. Do you know that if you completely finance your business with home equity instead of a busienss loan you will not be able to obtain a working capital loan later down the road? should you run into some financial troubles or wish to expand or remodel with working capital loan, you won't be able to get it if you finaced by personal means. It's always best to build a track record with a lender for future use and it's always better to be in business debt rather than personal debt. I always say: "You wouldn't hire a Plumber to do the Electrical in your home, so why would you finance a business using your home equity? Equity loans are for your home, business loans are for your business. You may however, utilize some of the equity in your home for loan down payment (depending upon your qualifications) and we can help determine whether that would be more helpful or damaging to your loan by pre-qualifying you for free. when using your home for collateral, it doesn't necessarily mean you will lose your home (in the event you cannot pay your loan payments). Lenders are always willing to work with you once you have a loan with them and they have already taken on the risk. they typically only utilize what they lien if nothing else can be resoloved (so it's basically a last resort) to go after what they lien.
Re: Women and Home Based Business Opportunities - Honestly, in most cases today... stay at home moms or wives does not necessarily equate to unemployment or anything of that sort. You will be surprised to see how many women who are making it big working at home. Perhaps the convenience of working at home and the flexibility of the work schedule attracts many women at home to engage in online work rather than actual office based work. Furthermore you should see how many clients prefer women over men when it comes to online jobs at home. Most clients states that women are always on time for work and are commited to get the job done. There are also a lot of women entrepreneurs who are now opting to start a home based online business because of the benefit of getting to be with your family at home. I know some women who successfully balances their online business and their roles as wife and mother. It sure is fun to see them work their business like a bonding time for them. I know one that is running a RTW clothing line online... Her husband is a photographer so he takes pictures for their products while their children gladly poses for the camera as a part of their portfolio. Well I guess if you really want to work out a scenario there are a lot of ways.. but if you are not that determined to do so then you can just think of different excuses.
Craigslist/Kijiji Sales - Would like to know who on this forum is having any success with generating business through Craigslist or Kijiji by posting ads there? What kind of business do you run and what do your ads state? I've been using the sites to generate leads for Foreclosure properties and I've been having some success. One of my Business Coaching client is a software developer and he's been having a lot of success with Craigslist - almost $7000/month. what's your view on it ?
Home Based Business - There are many types of businesses you can run from home. First, you need to evaluate your strengths and weaknesses. What experience do you have that could be used in a business? Its also good to evaluate if you're the kind of person who can work for yourself. Not everyone should work for themselves and I know some who won't thrive because they aren't that kind of person. Not being mean, just realistic about some basic business info. I run my home improvement business from an office in my home. Its convenient and I save on outside office rent expenses. Chris
