The 5 rules to a successful home business

There are a lot of articles on the internet that will give you a lot of ideas on how to begin your very own successful home business; this is not one of them. This article is for those who already have an idea of what kind of home business they want to embark on for a better future. This is here only to make sure that you succeed at the business that you have already chosen as your path to a better life. It is simple and straight to the point with no internet jargon to lead you astray.

If you fail to plan then plan to fail - no matter how great your business idea may be, it will not be a success unless you properly plan it out. A lot of people think that just because it is a home business that they can go about it day by day and just see how it works out. The truth is however, that there is no such thing. You will have to meticulously formulate a solid plan that will carry you to the profits that you imagine. Get online and look at the different business plans that you can apply to your own business idea. There is no such thing as an overnight success - if looked at closely; even the lucky few who happened to win the lottery did not achieve it overnight. Most of them spent tones of money and time playing the lotto. You too will have to practice patience and realize that you will not turn into a millionaire overnight. Give it time and keep putting in the hard work and soon you will see that it will surely happen.

Scheduling - the thing about being your own boss is that you get to work only when you want. The problem with this is that you can sometimes get your timing all upside down. If you want to have a successful home business then you will have to create a schedule and stick to it. It will benefit you greatly but it will also mean a lot to the clients that you are going to be working with. It will show them that your business is not a joke just because it is home based.

Organization - although the business will be running from the comforts of your own home, you will have to give it a level of organization. This does not only mean just the business structure itself but down to the area in which you will be working in. Make sure your notes are in the right place and your office area, even if it be your bedroom, is properly organized. You should not lose a client just because you put a reminder on your fridge and did not see it.

Focus - for those who choose to, running a successful home business can get very comfortable because of the home atmosphere. If for example, if the bed gets too warm while you work on your laptop, you may decide to simply take a nap. A lot of focus will be needed on your part if you are going to succeed. Try to dedicate a separate space as a designated work zone and stay in it even if you are at home.

Re: Craiglist Advertising - Google Analytics Results Re: Craiglist Advertising - Google Analytics Results - Craigslist has strict rules on posting adverts and they should all be for local ads. The fact you are posting in one city and then another means you *may* be breaking these rules. If you ramped this up and craigslist got annoyed they may report you to your affiliate and advertising networks which will then ban you. If you are not obeying craigslist rules and advertising your website, you are essentially spamming them. Spamming is not a long term business model and can get you in trouble.
Home Office definition by the IRS Home Office definition by the IRS - [quote:2k4jkkcd]If you have a business that can be run from home and have limited client traffic (the city or county can have issues with that), then definitely go for it[/quote:2k4jkkcd] The US government, in its never-ending attempts to squeeze as much money out of us workers as possible, has certain restrictions for home offices - if you want to deduct the room for tax purposes. (If you don't try to deduct it, it doesn't matter.) I'd advise anyone who does deduct for a home office to look into it very carefully. The entire room must be used as an office and nothing else, or it will be disallowed . (At least, that's what it was like a couple of years ago. Of course the IRS does have a tendency to change rules every year... but I doubt if they'd loosen up on the requirement. Tighten it, if anything. I've always worked from home - but never been able to go the "itemized deduction" route even if I'd wanted to. I speak only of what I know about the US. Inhabitants of other countries should of course consult their own tax codes.
Re: How do I engage seo works to be done for my site? Re: How do I engage seo works to be done for my site? - It's my experience that many managers view SEO as 'whatever' in terms of business priorities. They will get anyone and everyone to do it if they can and have no clear cut set of rules or logic to make it work within their business context. I've seen high school coops work specifically on SEO stuff - and clearly at that level, very few students have the tools and experience required to successful complete that work.
Is Spam to Blame?? Is Spam to Blame?? - I was reading the post about affiliate and ebay work to make money and had a thought. It seems that a large number of people think that its really easy to make money online. It can certainly be done, but I agree the learning curve is LARGE. Another fun thing about the internet, is that many of the rules change on a regular basis. I know a woman who wrote a book about promoting online about 4 years ago. I've tried to suggest updating some elements of the book in a new addition - because so many of the rules and especially the SEO rules have changed MANY times in 4 years. But, she insists that the principals are still accurate. They still work, but not nearly as well as they did 4 years ago. My thought is that one of the reasons that people feel they can make big money quickly is because the mountain of spam that sells that idea, must be extremely effective. Or, its the problem that my father insists that everyone wants to make easy money. Sadly, neither, ebay or affiliate marketing are that easy and they all require a lot of learning and a lot of work. I used to work for some extremely successful affiliates and they worked insane hours - but they knew the secrets and made a lot of money. They were very clear when they told people it didn't happen overnight and it wasn't easy. Shri
How can I start home-based business? How can I start home-based business? - I am not sure what you mean by home-based and how my story can help but my home-based business is my web design business. I can work from home and go out to meet my clients. These times (When I'm out) is the most 'dangerous', because if clients need some files or if something didn't get through email, I'll need to find the nearest internet hot spot (i bring my external hard drive everywhere) to service the client or come up with an excuse. initially it was difficult, working from home and starting up. work was scarce but I knew it was only in the beginning. after 5 months, I have quite a constant flow of work but still the cheques are not that regular but its getting there. I met other people who has started home-based business and they range from travel agents to company secretaries. hope that helps
