The right home business mindset

One of the key things about starting a home business is that, well you don't have to move! Sure the home business industry has has a bad perception in the past, get rich quick schemes, overnight wealth, i can understand how it is easy to gain the perception of running your own home business is easy. Well let me tell you, it's NOT. It has its highs and it has its lows like any other business. I'm going to try to help you get in the right mindset in order to become successful in running your home business. Thousands go online everyday in hopes to make money. Unfortunately, most do not even have a clue where to start. There are a ton of things you can spend money on this industry and when you have thrown your money at enough things and decide it doesn't work, that's when most give up and quit. The people that are successful in life have never given up. The right mindset is key in determining your success.

You have you build your self from the inside yo achieve success. Stay away from people who portray a negative influence to you, negative people will always effect who you are, no matter what you do. Negative energy brings negative thoughts, you will not succeed if you only think negative. Think of what you want out of your new home business, a new car, a new home, a vacation. You have to dream big, you have to know what you want and you will set your self in the right path. If you picture what you want you will work harder, guarantee. You must believe in yourself, you know you will succeed, you are following a already proven business platform, there is no way you can fail.

Focus on your outcome, not the past. There are so many people out there who focus on the past failures in their life, past business failures, every failure should be treated the way a failure should be, a way you can LEARN! You must take your past failure and use them to grow to bring more success into your new business. If you never learn from your past failures you will continue to do the same mistake over and over again. You must do what it takes to achieve your goal no matter what, jump over any obstacle, positive thinking will bring on positive results. It is PROVEN. There are countless books on the laws of attraction, you will attract amazing things into your life if you believe in yourself.

Re: Does birth order influence the desire to start a business? Re: Does birth order influence the desire to start a business? - Hi Kevin, I can't really say if birth order has anything to do with having more of a business mindset and taking risks. As for my situation, I have a sister who is three years older than me. I've always wanted to start my own business and work from home ever since I was in high school. My sister on the other hand got a four year degree and now works as a graphic design artist. I've mentioned to her on several occasions about doing freelance work and starting a side business. She just shrugs it off and says she doesn't have time to do something like that. It's a pitty because I know she would excel if she had the type of mindset that I have. She does great at her job and would do great as a freelancer.
Re: What to do at the first roadblock? Re: What to do at the first roadblock? - GT said, I think seeing that the glass (i.e. market or opportunity) is only half full is a good mindset to have rather than looking at the sheer number of competitors. I would have to agree. I think this is a great thing to think about in almost any situation, whether home or business. As I mentioned, attitude is 95% of the battle. Keeping it positive is the only way to get the things you really want in life. Helping others helps, too. See the quote in my signature.
Hiring the best people for the job Hiring the best people for the job - One of the hardest things I had to do as an entrepreneur was to give up control over a project to someone else. Currently, I am having a professional design my website for me. Sure I can do it myself, or hire someone to do it how I tell them, but what would I learn? Handling the technological side of the business is not my strong suit, so i had to find someone who knew more about the subject than I did and also has done what I want to do before. It has been a learning experience, and the great thing about it is it frees me up to do what I do best in my business, and letting someone else do what they do best. I have been brought up with the mindset that [i:vazquuoz]if you want it done right you [/i:vazquuoz][i:vazquuoz]have to do it yourself[/i:vazquuoz]. I am slowly but surely weening myself away from that mindset and learning how to delegate more effectively. Now I am extremely selective on who I hire, and my goal is to surround myself around people who are smarter than myself in their area of expertise.
How can I start home-based business? How can I start home-based business? - I am not sure what you mean by home-based and how my story can help but my home-based business is my web design business. I can work from home and go out to meet my clients. These times (When I'm out) is the most 'dangerous', because if clients need some files or if something didn't get through email, I'll need to find the nearest internet hot spot (i bring my external hard drive everywhere) to service the client or come up with an excuse. initially it was difficult, working from home and starting up. work was scarce but I knew it was only in the beginning. after 5 months, I have quite a constant flow of work but still the cheques are not that regular but its getting there. I met other people who has started home-based business and they range from travel agents to company secretaries. hope that helps
Using your home for collateral is one thing, but... Using your home for collateral is one thing, but... - Putting up your home for collateral is one thing, but utilizing the equity in it to finance a business is a whole other ball game and could be damaging in the long run. Do you know that if you completely finance your business with home equity instead of a busienss loan you will not be able to obtain a working capital loan later down the road? should you run into some financial troubles or wish to expand or remodel with working capital loan, you won't be able to get it if you finaced by personal means. It's always best to build a track record with a lender for future use and it's always better to be in business debt rather than personal debt. I always say: "You wouldn't hire a Plumber to do the Electrical in your home, so why would you finance a business using your home equity? Equity loans are for your home, business loans are for your business. You may however, utilize some of the equity in your home for loan down payment (depending upon your qualifications) and we can help determine whether that would be more helpful or damaging to your loan by pre-qualifying you for free. when using your home for collateral, it doesn't necessarily mean you will lose your home (in the event you cannot pay your loan payments). Lenders are always willing to work with you once you have a loan with them and they have already taken on the risk. they typically only utilize what they lien if nothing else can be resoloved (so it's basically a last resort) to go after what they lien.
