The Dragon in my Basement Still Taunts my Internet Marketing Attempts
The house is so very cold this morning. My grandfather built this house in the 30's. Saying it can be a bit drafty is a huge understatement. We have tried to delay waking the Dragon, our old furnace, in the basement until absolutely necessary. But this morning, I will wake him and ask him to warm the house a little bit. That is what he is here for, is it not?
Well now. The Dragon is on. Will he breathe a little fire through the vents? All I ask of him is just a small measure of warmth on this cold morning. However, he is making some pretty agitated sounds down there which means he does not want to be bothered and does not care that I am cold. I try to reason with him because I cannot sleep and prefer, instead, to get out of bed to work. Besides, while huddled in the cold and dark, creative ideas were racing through my head. I have work to do!
Furthermore, I really prefer the quiet of the morning without all that clanging around of your old metal parts. What is that, anyway?! Even the acorns have finished pelting our metal roof with their share of disrupting the morning's quiet. The old folks say when there are lots of acorns it means winter is going to be very cold so my Dragon is going to be busy. I usually prefer the lower temps except for some stiffness in my old, tired joints. My office receives the most warmth from the Dragon but I prefer he warm other rooms instead. Nevertheless, he does not listen to me especially since I am afraid to go down into the basement to confront him face to face.
But back to the quiet of the day. It is so amazing how quiet the world is when you are up during the wee hours of the morning. I get twice as much done without all the mind clutter from daily affairs. My brain is becoming saturated with caffeine and nicotine which might not be the healthiest way to begin a new fresh day but enjoyable to feed those addictions. My brain goes into overdrive with creative thoughts, business ideas and wonderful ways to reach out and touch someone with my Internet marketing business.
Undoubtedly, you have been wondering how this article could somehow lead from the Dragon in my basement to my Internet business at Cattle on 1000 Hills. Well, the Dragon represents my former life of cold and darkness before this tremendous opportunity came into my life. Before this discovery, I trudged to work every day with little hope of any change in the status quo. Well, actually there was a huge change. I got laid off!
With that life change, my condition is now one of being psychologically unemployable. If you weigh the old traditional job on one side of the scales and on the other, the benefits of working for yourself in an e-commerce industry growing in leaps and bounds, those scales show an astounding difference. There is too much in favor of my home based Internet business. I do not even want to look for another traditional job and have enjoyed not being stressed sending out resumes, cover letters, going to interviews, rejection letters and everything else that goes into pursuing traditional work. Instead, I choose to spend those hours profitably working my business online.
Hopefully you will look at what I have to offer and send me some feedback. Even more so, I hope that you would see this as a great opportunity and join our community of entrepreneurs. Get out from under the day to day stress of your "dragonistically" conventional job. This truly is the best Internet marketing business in the world and anyone can learn to follow the instructions easily laid out for success. Set your goals high and you will succeed beyond your wildest dreams and beyond anything the traditional job force has to offer.
Well, the Dragon still refuses to provide his services. A lot like my former job. My fingers will limber up anyway so that I can do that which includes being successful enough to totally replace my Dragon with the dream of having central heat and A/C in this old house. My goals also include building the most successful online Internet marketing business I can. I want to prove that those old dragons of traditional jobs cannot defeat me anymore and that the word "layoff" no longer holds any sway over me.
My life is more enjoyable because of time spent with my dog, Mo, my son, friends and family and this gift from God: Cattle on 1000 Hills. You will not see me at this site because I have enlisted the help of a friend to tell you his amazing story which is not unique to this business. No cattle or land for sale. Just a fantastic opportunity.

Mo is about the size of a smaller black bear so he will have to wear the hunting vests I custom made for him when we hike so no one mistakes him for one. Dragon's Den
- I suspect a lot of the Dragon Den's debacle was edited to make it more dramatic. It is television after all.
They have gotten so much coverage off of this that they may find a VC who will give them more money but b/c its not being play out on television no one will notice.
I thought it was a good show but at the end of the day it is a show and the educational experience must be tempered by the fact that the entire interplay b/w Dragon and entrepreneurs was to attract viewers first and foremost.
In the trenches, most of these deals fall apart during negotiations for the same reasons; too much control given up for too little money, different visision etc. etc. It just never get dramatized in the same way. Best of luck to the guys though- it was a good learning experience for them.

- Hi Kevin,
Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory.
Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing.
I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Internet Marketing Conference on SLife
- I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways..
a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak.
Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc..
Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL.
There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.

Welcome to the forum, it's great to have you here and thank you for telling us a little about yourself. You sound like a very enthusiastic person who likes what she does and in Internet Marketing that is very important and you also sound like a 'people person' which is great.
Internet Marketing is time consuming and challenging but can also be extremely rewarding and hopefully profitable. I don't know how many forums you have signed up to but this is one of the best. The support and guidance you get here is what makes it the success that it is but as I am sure you know from looking at the side bar that there are many aspects of business that are catered for here which will help you along the way,

- Hi Kevin,
I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.
