Internet Marketing Gives Single & Unemployed Moms A Fresh New Start
I remember moving to Atlanta with my mom and sister when I was still in elementary school. Not exactly the best of times for my family, my mom was going through a ugly separation from my Dad and for the first time she was single with two kids to look after. I remember staying with distant relatives for a while until my mom found a apartment for us to live in College Park. Mom still needed a full time income so she decided to work with a friend in the daycare business. Mom was watching the young kids of women who couldn't afford the rates of the regular day care services in town. Working from home my mom generated a income for the family, not a huge one but enough for us to get by. Eventually my mom broke ties with her friend due their constant agreeing to disagree and she went in to business for herself. Single mothers who preferred my mothers style of management as opposed to her friend came along with my mom including another friend of my mom who was living with us due to her own marital problems.
Mom's home business gave her the ability to stay home with my sister and I and give us the love and support we needed at that time. I still remember my mom asking me weird intimate questions I didn't necessarily feel comfortable answering at my early stages of puberty. Eventually my mom got a job working at the Coca Cola Company but for that brief time she was a Entrepreneur and owned a home based business that gave her the flexibility and income to do what is most important to her and her family. The point of the story is Self empowerment, I'm not suggesting that you go off and start up a Daycare but I do believe in the power of Leverage and a Home based business offers that leverage. More and more people are turning to Internet Marketing as the solution to their financial problems.
I know being single and unemployed mom is hard because I am a product of one. The Obama Administration wants Single mothers to go back to school and I agree completely. However you have to ask yourself is the education that I'm pursuing going to be relevant and marketable in this 21st century economy that's being built. The most important thing for a mom is providing for her children and that's why I recommend becoming a student of Internet Marketing and owning your own home based business. Internet marketing will allow Single Unemployed women a fresh new start because you will become self sufficient and resourceful. Suddenly you will become empowered because you will find yourself learning a new skill set that will never again have to place your personal and family's happiness in the hands of anyone else except your own.

Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory.
Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing.
I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.

1. Start with a web promotion plan and an effective web design and development strategy.
2. Get ranked at the top in major search engines, and practice good Search Optimization Techniques.
3. Learn to use Email Marketing Effectively.
4. Dominate your marketing niche with affiliate, reseller, and associate programs.
5. Request an analysis from an Internet marketing coach or Internet marketing consultant.
6. Build a responsive opt-in email list.
7. Publish articles or get listed in news stories.
8. Write and publish online press releases.
9. Facilitate and run contests and giveaways via your web site.
10. Blog and interact with your visitors.

- I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways..
a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak.
Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc..
Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL.
There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.

Welcome to the forum, it's great to have you here and thank you for telling us a little about yourself. You sound like a very enthusiastic person who likes what she does and in Internet Marketing that is very important and you also sound like a 'people person' which is great.
Internet Marketing is time consuming and challenging but can also be extremely rewarding and hopefully profitable. I don't know how many forums you have signed up to but this is one of the best. The support and guidance you get here is what makes it the success that it is but as I am sure you know from looking at the side bar that there are many aspects of business that are catered for here which will help you along the way,
