The Importance of Vision for Any Business

Here's a story for you:

Three men were working on a wall one day. An elderly woman walks up to the first man and asks, “Sir, what are you doing?” The man turns and says, “What does it look like I’m doing? I’m building a wall.”

The woman walks up to the second man and asks, “Sir, what are you doing? “ The second man turns and says, “What does it look like I’m doing. I’m making a paycheck.”

The woman walks up to the third man and asks, “Sir, I’d like to ask you a question. The first man down there is just building a wall and the second man is simply building this wall to make a paycheck. Sir, what are you doing?”

The third man turned towards the woman and said with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes, “Ma’am, I’m building a cathedral where someday men and women will come and worship.”

When we build any business, be it a large corporation or a small internet marketing business, we have to know why we are building it. Is it simply to be doing something to fill a void in our lives? Or is it to make loads and loads of money? Or is it to build a business where people enjoy coming to work while producing superior products and services?

The best companies in the world incorporate into their visions the type of positive culture they want to create. They see the benefit of putting the associate's welfare above profit. Many in my leadership seminars scoff at that notion and think it juvenile that a business owner would be thinking of the welfare of associates above the bottom line. But doesn’t it make good business sense to put people first? Because isn’t it happy associates who work hard for and are committed to a great company that puts its people first, thus excelling at customer service and productivity?

Great companies are defined by these 4 characteristics:

1) They have a caring culture

2) They have clear and enforced standards of performance and behavior

3) They have a supportive culture

4) They have an open culture

In both my leadership training and Internet marketing companies, I not only have a vision of being profitable with exceptional products and services, but also of creating an environment where people are treated fairly and with respect. I have learned the hard way that an organizational vision that doesn't incorporate the welfare of its associates is a vision that won't last.

Once you have the vision to create a people-centered business, focus on the vision and always keep it front and center. It’s vision that compels us forward and gives us a reason to get up in the morning and create something wonderful.

Have a big vision. Build that organizational cathedral where people will want to sit a spell and gaze at the beauty of its structure. Just make sure that vision includes other people and their success.

I don’t know about b2b marketing but I have done marketing so know things about it. I will suggest you to take online services which will spread your business all over web network. Online marketing is the best way to market any business.[/quote:428owzbi] B2B = Business to Business - You are marketing to other businesses.
