MAKING MONEY IN RETIREMENT? OR MAYBE NOT....YET
At the age of 64 I'd like to retire but I don't have enough super and don't want to live on the Age pension as there's too many things I still wantto do!Having worked for most of my adult life, I reckon I should be able to retire from the daily grind of getting up, going to work, coming home and going to bed, then doing exactly the same thing the next day and the next ....... The problem is that I don't have enough income, and I really don't want to have to survive on the Age Pension. This was caused in part by the fact that in Australia, superannuation paid by employers didn't start until 1992/3, and there was very little information available to the average worker about employee contributions and retirement planning.
When I retire I want quality of life, and to be able to do things I don't have much time to do while I'm still working. I don't know about you, but I keep thinking of all the things I'd do 'if only I had time' - things like travelling, either overseas or seeing more of my home country, in my case Australia.; various friends are always singing the praises of cruising, and I'd love to go on some of these; I'd like to spend more time at home just 'pottering about' - you know the sort of things - gardening, redecorating, spending quality time with family and friends. Dining out and trying all the different styles of cuisine would be rather nice, and being a wine drinker, I'd love to work my way through some of the wines recommended in the wine book by son gave me last year! All simple but enjoyable things, and I'm sure you've got one or three similar ideas yourself!
But I haven't got enough money to do all these things! - I need more income in retirement than the pension is going to give me. So with this in mind, about 2 years ago I started looking for ideas on making money from home. The internet was the obvious starting point, and I have to admit I wasn't prepared for the amount of information I found....so many people claiming theirs was "the best system", "get rich quick schemes", "just a few emails a day and you'll make wages for a week" etc etc. I'm sure a lot of you have been there! I got burned a couple of times as well, with online business opportunities which were supposed to give you support and training, but as soon as you handed over your hard earned money, that was it, you were left on your own. Very recently though, I came across a company which seemed to have everything I was looking for, so I checked them out in every way I knew how, and decided to give them a go. What I found has just blown me away - they do everything they claim to do and more.....just to give you an idea, there is full training, (they basically take you through the various modules step-by-step); there's no face to face selling, so you can still call up your family and friends and they're not going to be running for cover! There's an automated marketing system, and best of all, there are REAL people to help you, either by phone or on their website, where there is Live Help. In fact, my personal decider was when mymentor called me up and spent time going through all the questions I had about the business. It's an exciting time - very challenging and will certainly keep the brain active, but I am now delighting in discovering that I can still study and learn new skills, which hopefully will lead to a retirement which is not only fulfilling mentally, but a time to experience all the things I've been dreaming of doing.
