  2. Check the Better Business Bureau to see if the company has a record of complaints. And remember, even companies with top online business ideas will occasionally have a consumer complaint. It's not the complaints that matter as much as how the company handles them.

  3. Work with internet home based businesses that offer you a way to contact someone in the company directly. After all, if a company doesn't want to talk with you before they get your money, how are they going to treat you after you've paid to join?
