With a myriad of wealth creation opportunities available, how do you find one that is right for you? With the current recession, many people who thought their future was secure, suddenly found their investments diminished or the were suddenly out of a job. This has sent people scrambling to recover from devastating losses, yet the economy is still soft and jobs are hard to come by.

Millionaires are Being Made Every Day

In spite of the economic difficulties in our country, millionaires are being made every day. Most of this new wealth has been through multi level marketing systems, also called direct sales or network marketing. The advantages of these types of businesses is that they are home-based, have no overhead, low start up, and residual incomes, in other words, a commission is paid to you even if you did not personally make the sale. Some people take these money-making opportunities as a supplement to their income; others devote themselves full-time to make it a career.

Choose the Right One

There are plenty of products and services marketed through direct sales. Choosing the one that you are excited about and cannot wait to tell others about is the obvious choice. You also need to find out how commissions are paid, if there is a cap on the amount of money you can earn, how often commissions are paid, and how commission checks are distributed. Look at the details, talk to others in the organization, not just the “top dogs”.

It is easy to tell a legitimate opportunity from a scam. The Direct Selling Association that governs MLM corporations requires that a product or service must be the primary reason for the exchange of money. Direct sales companies are listed and unbiased reviews are obtained at dsa.org.

Also look at how much support the parent company gives you. There should be ongoing training and support, including personal contact. If you have never sold anything before, there are key strategies that will bring you success.

Seek Additional Training on Your Own

Utilize the experience of others to develop your skills. Eliminate the discouragement of being turned down just because your skills are not developed. Yes, you do have to learn to sell – no one is a “born salesperson”, but usually has to learn by trial and error.
