The tough thing about promoting any topic is that while following all the steps regarding setting up a social media marketing page for marketing a product or service, a video course can only instruct a person on how to do just that, and not very much advice on the "content" of the site, which is ultimately what needs to be known and understood in order to succeed.
"How do you define social networking?" and "why do people use online social networking?" are two good questions to ask when searching for a video marketing tutor or course . So if you're searching for a video marketing course look for a course that includes strategy as well as content creation or your videos will be sailing a lonely sea.
There are many courses out there online and many people calling themselves coaches, mentors and gurus but do your homework before stepping into the unknown and be sure the person leading you in front of the camera has an eye for detail or your social marketing ambitions will be blown out of the water.
Some of the most popular sites have a larger percentage of marketing videos than others while in others the creators do not put in the effort to develop a video. Some people feel it is easier to write and insert text than to produce a social networking marketing video but those who do engage their audience in this way are at a significant advantage.
The bottom line is that a video marketing course can achieve more when combined with a knowledge of social networking and content syndication and any good training in video marketing should cover this as part of the course.

Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory.
Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing.
I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.

Online Marketing would be a great title, and having sub categories would make it even better, there would plenty of categories to choose from, Social Media, SEO, Article Marketing and yes even Affiliate Marketing to name just a few,

I use many of these ways to promote my online business and am looking into using more of them.
I also use Article Marketing, Social Networking and Blogging which I find a very good way to get traffic to my site and also gain valuable backlinks.

2009 is a new year and I'd like to create a new forum category to jazz things up! In the past, there's been some interest voiced about adding a "Social Media Marketing", "Online Marketing", "Internet Marketing" or "Online Promotion" category.
I'll implement [u:1g2tv6tf]ONE[/u:1g2tv6tf] of those new categories, but can someone first tell me what the difference would be between the existing "Marketing" section and one of those new options mentioned above?

- At the moment I'm concentrating on Article Marketing, Blogging and Social Networking to gain backlinks and drive traffic to two of my websites.
I'm also in the middle of creating another website, totally unrelated to my other sites where I will be selling jewellery. I only started this one yesterday and am pretty excited about it.
