Every article you will find about using social media making to promote your product, business or opportunity successfully will always include the importance of traffic generation. This means getting lots of people to your door. Lots and lots of people, yesterday, today and tomorrow.
The old saying 'Build It And They Will Come' is not quite enough - so throw out any pre-conceived ideas, roll up your social media marketing sleeves and make a start today.
Traffic is king.
But not just any old traffic. Targeted, specific traffic and here's a few ideas to get you on track to finding some of it through social media.
1. Facebook - MySpace - Zenzuu - Use Facebook and other social media sites to build a community. Invite your friends, supporters and colleagues along to build relationships, interact and exchange stories about your work and your ideas for the future.
2. Blog Exchange or Build Links with Other Sites -
A great way for affiliate marketers or entrepreneurs to raise their profile online is by building links with other similar sites through a quality blog.
3. Squidoo - build a unique, entertaining Squidoo lens to send traffic to your blog or website
4. Forums - Join forums and become part of the conversation. Build relationships, be entertaining and helpful and offer value to others in the group.
5. Use Social Bookmarking Sites To Build Trust - Capture a market and show your knowledge, expertise and credibility by contributing to the discussion. Social bookmarking sites such as Digg and StumbleUpon will allow you to be a part of the discussion and profile yourself as an expert in the field. Build trust and the traffic will follow.
6. Newsletters. Don't restrict your social media marketing to online activity alone. Use your current communication format to support your online endeavours and bring your supporters online by the dozen. They may just thank you for it.
