Internet Marketing Tools & Training: Why You Must Learn

Article Overview: I'd like to address a question I keep hearing which, honestly, I asked myself not too long ago and that is: 'Why should I learn Internet marketing?' My knee-jerk reaction is usually: 'Why wouldn't you learn Internet marketing!?'. Of course that's not as productive a response as I'd like to give so let's observe the following 3 reasons today:

I'd like to address a question I keep hearing which, honestly, I asked myself not too long ago and that is: 'Why should I learn Internet marketing?' My knee-jerk reaction is usually: 'Why wouldn't you learn Internet marketing!?'. Of course that's not as productive a response as I'd like to give so let's observe the following 3 reasons today:

1. It's the fastest growing demographic on the planet
2. It's extremely cost effective
3. The Internet never sleeps

Did you know that there are tens of millions of new Internet users each and every day? That's millions upon millions of people online today that weren't online yesterday. In my humble opinion one of the main reasons that traditional brick and mortar businesses fail is because they don't have enough people coming through their door. Well on the Internet you can create a 'virtual door' that never locks or closes, and by learning Internet marketing you too can enjoy the 24 hour a day customer interest.

Cost. It can cost hundreds and even thousands of dollars to place magazine and newspaper ads. Forget about billboards. There are Internet marketing methods for all budgets. That's right, even if your budget is nothing. And the stats that you get back from the Internet are extremely fast too. Where as you may have to wait weeks or months offline, you can get actionable feedback from the Internet in HOURS.

Finally, the Internet never sleeps. This is a global economy. While we're in bed, people are on the other side of the planet logging on to our sites and making purchases. Now that's leverage.

Why should you learn Internet marketing? Because you're an entrepreneur and entrepreneurs adapt and dominate. If you want to take advantage of the fastest-growing demographic in history than you will choose to learn Internet marketing. If you want to be stubborn and not learn...best of luck.

Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.

Internet Marketing Conference on SLife - I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways.. a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak. Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc.. Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL. There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.
