If you have a business, If you are part of a sport team or you are an entrepreneur, teamwork will always be the key ingredient that decides how successful you and your team will be. Without teamwork, teams are not cohesive and steps are missed in the process of accomplishing the task you are working towards. Here a list of items that can help your team be more focus and more productive.

Only have people that have self-interest in what you do. People that have the attitude I am doing this because you pay me or because I have too will never be an asset for you. Remember, your team is only as good as your weakest link.

Your team members must believe in the team vision. Create a vision with the team, get their input, implement some of their ideas, make them part of the process. Create ownership within your team with the task at hand.

Make your leadership known with your team. Your team has to know that no matter what, you as the leader is there to help and support them but not to do it for them.

Having a team with common values will help building team chemistry. Have the team share personal experiences if they want and create an atmosphere of alliance between them.

Develop a leader between the team members that will be there to support them while you are not and cooperate with you and the team. This will create an association between you and the team.

Sharing the duties and responsibilities between everyone is quite important. You want everyone to be involved in the team activity so no one is left behind.

As a leader of your team, create challenges and opportunities for your team to grow. If they start thinking they know everything or this is not fun anymore, you will lose their interest.

Always share goals with your team. Give them updates and timelines. If the team is aware of what needs to be done consistently, you will create a sense of urgency to not only accomplish a task but for them to do it well.

When someone new joins your team, make sure the integration is smooth and they feel part of the team quickly. Get them involve and motivated by following the steps mentioned already.

Assure there is no judge mental individual on your team. That will destroy everything you are trying to build. If you see it, address it immediately, the worst thing you could do is to ignore it.

And last recognize your top performers. People need to know that if they do well, they will be rewarded in some fashion. Once that is done, get with the people that did not perform well but worked hard and work on an action plan to help them be on the podium next time.

Teamwork is the foundation of all businesses, sports team no matter how individual it may be. There is always someone somewhere helping somebody be successful. I always live by this quote "do something for somebody knowing fully they can never repay you" John Jackson. Make it your passion to be a major part of a team or to help someone succeed. The inside reward is better than any physical reward you could ever get.
