Being an Entrepreneur, It sure looks Easy!

Owning a home based business or becoming an entrepreneur sure looks fine and dandy but it is certainly not as easy as it sounds. A lot of online businesses or MLM proclaim you can make a lot of money easily and quickly. If that were true, why is it that 97% of new entrepreneurs will fail over the next 3 years? Do not fool yourself or believe anyone that claims to make money online or with any home based business is easy. The fact is you have to treat it just like if you owned a restaurant, gas station or any type of businesses. You have to work hard and earn it. It can be very demanding. What are the common errors that a new business owner is guilty of?

The new entrepreneur spends entirely too much time on unnecessary practices, activities that are not revenue producing activities. They are focusing on retuning e-mails, phone calls, texting or spending too much time learning too many practices. It is important to understand that a successful business owner spends 90% of all his/her activities on revenue producing activities. That means most of his/her time is spent on making money. The 10% is to do what the other items I listed above.

The new online business owner sometimes does not have good time management. He/she is always late and is always too busy to attend meeting, group activities etc. Planning your time to have an effective business is part of the life of a successful entrepreneur. It does make sure you are accomplishing your tasks for your business and balances you professional life with your personal life. Having a balance life will make you very productive and be more successful. If you do not have good time management, take a course, this will make you money.

When you start promoting your business to the world, you will many options to choose from. A lot of new home based business owner make the mistake to learn all the methods and try them all at the same time. It is a common mistake and can be quite discouraging because what happens is that you become at best average in each category of marketing. If you choose 3 or 4 to focus your activities on, you will become an expert and therefore you will able to generate more leads for your business and potential customers.

The get rich programs do not exists but there are a lot of good businesses for you to start with. The main reason a person is successful with their own business is the person itself. You have to be a hard worker, willing to listen and learn, willing to put in the time and effort and have a little bit of capital. If you have all this, you can be a successful entrepreneur.

Re: e-Commerce and e-Payment providers Re: e-Commerce and e-Payment providers - When I came back to Japan in 1999 I sometimes used to ask my students if they would buy anything on the Internet and at that time most thought it was too risky. I'd encourage them to try by using well known sites such as Amazon.co.jp and also pointed out that using a credit card on a reputable site was safer than using it at a restaurant. I can't remember the last time I had that discussion or when the "tipping point" occurred in Japan. To answer your other question, I use Paypal for several reasons: 1. Brand familiarity 2. Easy to use 3. Free to withdraw 50,000yen+ to my Japanese bank account - a huge benefit (but maybe other systems also offer that...?) 4. Easy to cancel subscriptions On the down side, their transaction fees are quite costly, they are difficult to contact and when disputes arise you can sometimes lose even when you can prove via your tracking service that the disputed item was "delivered" to the customer's address!
Re: Domain name sugestion Re: Domain name sugestion - Hi Anelly, Support-Box.com sounds very good to me. Easy and catchy.
Delegating Delegating - Good info and interesting list. Easy to see how the authority or power is slowly passed to the person - the secret would be knowing WHEN to move to the next step. I like to avoid people who are stuck at the #1 level. Chris
What makes you keep coming back for more? What makes you keep coming back for more? - I am researching on personal preferences that keeps the visitors coming back to a web site. What would be great is if people would list out their preferences of what keeps them interested to keep visiting a website in order or importance. For me it is:- 1. Content – Value, Depth and Recency of Information provided 2. User Friendliness – Easy Navigation, Simple graphic design etc. 3. Service – download time, contactability etc.
