I will cover a number of subjects from how to make the distinction between a good online business and a bad one. What are the differences between MLM, Direct Sales, Affiliate Programs and GPT companies available? We will look at what kind of compensation plan you should look for, more or less products, how to jump start your business and a lot more.

Let's start with what I think is the most important part of any online business systems, YOU. Did you know that almost 97% of people who will start their own business over the next 3 years and will fail? The reason they will fail is not because of the online business they will choose. A lot of people think that you can pay your money and the money will come 10 fold. That could not be further from the truth. Here are the top 5 reasons people will fail.

• 1. Lack of focus
• 2. Consistency
• 3. Procrastinate
• 4. Making the sale
• 5. Lack of good follow up

Let's take them one at the time. Learn to be focus on what is important. The best online business people understand that most of their time should be spent on revenue producing activities. E-mail, texting, phone call etc all have a place and a time but should not be your priority. Get yourself a day planner and plan the time you have to invest in your online business with 90% of your time spent on revenue producing activities. Also, don't waste time checking other companies once you have committed to one company. This will only take valuable time from making money from your current online business system. The grass is never greener on the other side;

In order to be consistent, we have to have goals you want to achieve. If you are just starting, you goal should be to make that 1^st sale. If you are a more experience, you goal could be to make $500, $1,000 more than the previous week or month. Use your day planner to plan your activities to achieve your goals, no matter how big your goals might be. Once you have achieved your goal, re-adjust your goals and re-adjust your day planner in order to achieve your new goals. Consistency is a very big key to any businesses success.

People who procrastinate are not organize and will postpone any activities they have to do because they don't have time to accomplish everything they have to do or they feel overwhelmed by the amount of work they think they have to do. A procrastinator must get a planner otherwise they might a well just never invest in an online business because they will never get anything done. It is a waste of time and money.

For new and inexperience online business owners, making a sale is very difficult. Let's face it we are not born a salesperson. This is a skill we have to learn so when people can't make the sale, they usually quit. Making the sale is not that hard. Don't focus on selling the product, focus on what the product could do for your potential customer. How it would make your customer life easier if they had your products. If you have a family of 4 and you are shopping for a car, is the salesperson selling you a sports car of car that has a lot of space with good gas mileage? Focus on how your product with help your customer.

In order to be successful in 2010 with your online business, you will need good quality follow-up. If you don't follow up with your customers, they will quit on you and ask for a refund, if your company offers any kind of guarantee. Be supportive and do timely follow up. Even if the people are doing well, they like to hear from you. No matter what you are selling, once your customer purchase what you are selling, from that point you are selling yourself, not your products.

All this to say that most people are not successful overnight. It takes time build any business. If you owned a restaurant and decided to offer good service only on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, do you think your restaurant would stay open very long? Money I made while in School - While in university I did have a Student Loan (still paying that bugger off) and had a part-time job as a Call Center agent (inbound). *Canada* I also designed websites (outsourced all the work). I believe it is possible to earn a lot through the internet, but it is hard work. Nobody gets it very easy on a long term basis. [b][b]How much notice do people take[/b], [/b]when the Bank Statements are shown as means of 'how credible' their business idea is? Are they always totally true? They look authentic. The whole industry is growing rapidly. What is your experience? Is there any regulation in presenting the 'Bank Statement' or other statements from 'Click Bank' etc ? The Big Book of Small Business: You Don't Have to Run Your Business by the Seat of Your Pants, by Tom Gegax. Ditto. 3. PADI: The Business of Diving Book Okay, so this book won't be of use to anyone who doesn't want to start a scuba store, but I did, and this book was of course invaluable to me in reaching that goal.
