There are several types of online business opportunities available. I will focus on the main 4 which are MLM, Direct Sales, Affiliate Programs and GPT Models. How do you know which ones matches you? How do you know which one works better than the other? And the answer is it depends. Let's take them one by one let's see what are the differences.

As I discuss in part one of this series, the main ingredient to any successful online business is YOU. If you have not read it yet, please do because without those 5 activities, it does not matter which type of company you choose for your business.

Let's start with MLM. MLM is defined as Multilevel marketing plans are a way of selling goods or services through distributors. These plans promise that if you sign up as a distributor, you will receive commissions - for both your sales of the plan's goods or services and those of other people you recruit to join the distributors.

Direct Sales: is a retail channel for the distribution of goods and services. At a basic level it may be defined as marketing and selling products, direct to consumers away from a fixed retail location. Sales are typically made through party plan one to one demonstrations, and other personal contact arrangements. A text book definition is: "The direct personal presentation, demonstration, and sale of products and services to consumers, usually in their homes or at their jobs.

In order to be successful in these 2 industries, you must have people skills and be very motivated. Once you sign up, you will be required to contact all your friends and family to try to get them to sign up under you and they will have to do the same for themselves. You will need to be very good in public speaking because you will need to do parties where you demonstrate your products to your guest to make your sales. The opportunity to make money is there but if you have to be a good public speaker and a good salesperson. You usually can get started from $300 up to $5,000 depending at what level you are signing up. You probably understand more now why I said it depends on you what type of company is better.

Affiliate Marketing: Affiliate marketing is a method of promoting web businesses through revenue sharing advertising between two websites. The affiliate website displays a banner advertisement of another website, to share their visitors. The affiliate in turn gets compensated for displaying the advertisement. If you like to write, if you like to do marketing, if you like to work on your computer, this might for you. You can get started for free and make money within days. This type of online business will provide some extra income but will not make you rich.

Money I made while in School - While in university I did have a Student Loan (still paying that bugger off) and had a part-time job as a Call Center agent (inbound). *Canada* I also designed websites (outsourced all the work). I believe it is possible to earn a lot through the internet, but it is hard work. Nobody gets it very easy on a long term basis. [b][b]How much notice do people take[/b], [/b]when the Bank Statements are shown as means of 'how credible' their business idea is? Are they always totally true? They look authentic. The whole industry is growing rapidly. What is your experience? Is there any regulation in presenting the 'Bank Statement' or other statements from 'Click Bank' etc ? The Big Book of Small Business: You Don't Have to Run Your Business by the Seat of Your Pants, by Tom Gegax. Ditto. 3. PADI: The Business of Diving Book Okay, so this book won't be of use to anyone who doesn't want to start a scuba store, but I did, and this book was of course invaluable to me in reaching that goal.
