Use Twitter to Generate an Income?

Article Overview: If you have an online business or a MLM business, you most likely have been on Twitter to help build your business. Twitter certainly can be a great marketing strategy if used appropriately. If you just started with Twitter, I am sure you notice that people are bombarding you with either sales pitch tweets or they send you direct messages with sales pitch. That message can say something like “Make 100K in 3 months” or “Best online business” etc. etc. What is the right way to use Twitter? What is the best way to use Twitter?

If you have an online business or a MLM business, you most likely have been on Twitter to help build your business. Twitter certainly can be a great marketing strategy if used appropriately. If you just started with Twitter, I am sure you notice that people are bombarding you with either sales pitch tweets or they send you direct messages with sales pitch. That message can say something like "Make 100K in 3 months" or "Best online business" etc. etc. What is the right way to use Twitter? What is the best way to use Twitter?

Unfortunately, most online businesses that uses Twitter to promote their business do it in such "push down your throat" type sales practice that every time someone sends me a sales pitch, I just push the delete key without looking at anything on the add. As soon as it says make 100K, or best business, or 16,000 followers in 90 days or any advertisement that just keep on coming, I just delete it and I am afraid a lot of people are like me a do that as well. I look at it like if I am at the fair and those people that try to get you to play those games that you can never win but they keep on pushing even if you say no. That is really annoying, isn't.

If you are an online business owner or MLM business owner, you should use Twitter to Brand yourself or your company. You should take advantage of the possibility of being exposed to thousands of people every day and instead of selling your products or services, you should sell yourself. Today's society wants to be able to trust the person they do business with. They want to know they are in good hands. So learn how to brand yourself, take advantage of all the social media like Twitter, like Face book and learn to sell yourself to the public.

People today do not want anything pushed down there throat. Learn to Brand, learn to sell yourself and be patient. The process of Branding takes time but the rewards are tremendous and will last a very long time if you do it right.

Stop pushing things down my throat and show me I can trust you.

Free time to create and promote my own products (relies on #1) 3. 5% of all revenues generated by my team going to feed starving kids Now that is "feel good work".

Re: Using Twitter To Double Your Traffic? - I'm sure in many cases Twitter sends more traffic than Search Engines because most people don't have good enough SE rankings to get SE traffic. But anyone can get Twitter traffic. The problem is that Twitter traffic won't convert for the most part and SE traffic will. I'd venture to say that 98% of the time getting just 100 visitors from search is better than getting 2000+ from Twitter.

Re: Social Media Works If You Do It Right... - Hi Michelle, Ah, but it seems hashtags are still being used by a lot of people - including Twitter! So I would still use them for your keywords. It's just that if you are searching for something on Twitter you can either go the #hashtag route, or do a direct search on the Twitter homepage. I guess you could use #hashtags when searching on the Twitter homepage as well! DH
