Earn Passive Income In 2011?

Guest post by: Brigitte Mehr

Article Overview: I have been an Internet Marketer for the last 3 years and the more successful and experienced I become the more fantasy and folklore I seem to find on the subject of passive/residual income. You see, I always believed and I was always told ….. that by being in network marketing or MLM over time I would be in the enviable position of being able to lie back on a secluded beach drinking cocktails and doing very little because my downline would provide for me with passive income checks so big and regular that my life of luxury was never in doubt. All I had to do was to just keep following the plan, hosting the home parties, phoning 50 people per day, hand out the flyers and buy the expensive leads and the sales would follow and my downline would be queueing up at the door to join me.

Earn Passive Income In 2011?

I have been an Internet Marketer for the last 3 years and the more successful and experienced I become the more fantasy and folklore I seem to find around the subject of passive/residual income.

Just like thousands of others I signed up with an optimistic heart with the travel brochures in my hand ……

So, you see just like thousands of others I bought the dream – then very quickly realised that I had been sold a dud!

Having been in the industry for 5 years and a top producer for the last 18 months I can tell you that the reality is somewhat different to that rose tinted myth that is pedalled around.

However, over the the last 3 years I have learned a great deal & I have built up an international team on 4 continents, male, female, young and not so young, so I am now in a position to be able to make a few observations…..

The most interesting one is this…..No matter where people are from, no matter how old they are and no matter which sex they are, there seem to be some irrefutable laws that determine people react the same no matter what.

What do I mean?

Well, once the honeymoon is over and things start going not quite as they hoped or planned then the commitment gets a bit flaky and people start to fall by the way side. I have heard all the excuses you or I could ever think of. But do you know what? None of it matters because at the end of the day it all boils down to 1 simple fact.

It is only those people who have the biggest vision or 'why' who stay the course.

No amount of hand holding or babysitting your downline will make a single jot of difference – In fact by doing this we actually make it worse for them as we create a dependency on us and they never learn to stand alone. Far better to let a child learn to crawl and walk on its own.

These flaky folks hit a few obstacles along the way and turn around and go back home or often take a different route altogether to avoid them. These are the people who either give up completely or those people who move from opportunity to opportunity thinking the grass will be greener on the other side and guess what? …..

It never is!

Only those people who have got their goal in sight at all times and who never let their vision waver NO MATTER WHAT are the ones who win. They do not see the bumps and potholes in the road because they are constantly looking forwards, moving towards that goal at all times. Obstacles along the way are not seen as insurmountable, they are just things to be danced around and jumped over as they move forwards.

So what do YOU do to help them?

Well, if you have given them your time and given them the tools to succeed then there is nothing else to do because you have done all you can – you have heard the old saying that you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink

So, you need to put your energy into an outcomes that you can control.

Yourself!

The harder you work at honing your skills and developing yourself then the better a marketer you will become and the more valuable you become to others.

You see the better you become then the more sales you will make and the more people you will attract to yourself and the more you will have to offer others. You are creating value in the marketplace.

Your choice of business model

There is now a growing movement in the industry away from the concept of passive income. WHAT?

Just think about it for a moment …wouldn't you prefer to earn more per sale on your own front end sales rather than wait for the downline checks that rarely materialise? You know what it is like when your downline start leaving and your commission checks dwindle month on month. Far better to earn a years worth up front and then put that money to work for you creating more.

Then it does not matter a fig to you if your downline produce or not because you are creating significant amounts on your own sales.

Ahh, I can hear you say that's all very well but then you have no incentive to help your downline – just sell em the stuff and off you go and leave em to struggle on their own!

You need to look at the bigger picture…….

You see in the direct sales industry today the bigger income sales do not come from new customers they actually come from your existing ones. It is so much easier to sell to an existing satisfied customer than to a brand new one.

So, if you keep your current customers and keep them happy and build a good relationship with them then they are far more likely to become repeat customers that you keep for life.

Not only that, once someone trusts you it becomes easier to sell them the 'high end' more expensive products because they have already experienced you and what you stand for and trust you.

Over time these repeat customers gradually spend more and more each time with you – that is providing they have the money to do so…

Which brings me right back to the thorny issue of your downline not producing sales because just think about it if they do not make sales they how on earth are they going to be able to buy more expensive products from you in the future?

This puts the ball back in your court because by supporting, teaching, coaching and empowering others to be successful (even though you are not earning passive income from their efforts) still guarantees your future success!

You still have a vested interest in helping them to succeed the only difference is the business model which is a vast improvement on the 'old school' one because you do not need to wait for small and dwindling commission checks you get paid up front first time.

2011 is going to prove a groundbreaking year in the Network Marketing/MLM/Home Business arena – there are massive new opportunities just hiding around the corner and for those who are smart enough to see them and embrace them 2011 is going to be a year of massive success.

Shy People, Shy People, - Hi Nikki, Why are people shy? They can be either the Passive and Reserved ones or they don't want to be found foolish in the company of other people. Often fear plays a role, because of what other folks thinks about them. There are two groups of shy people: One group likes to meet people to share their concern and emotions, but they can also be critical and mostly reluctant to speak. The other group are task people. They prefere to do it alone and have a lot questions. I believe, the internet is a good portal for shy people. They don't face direct intimidation, therefore they can express themselves without being ostracised. Hope, that helps. Kindest Regards Beat "Unlock People's Potentials!"
