To What Extent Does Someone Else Own Your Life? – Work From Home Online

I was with one of my oldest friends just the other day - she called me because she wanted to talk. She had just come to a very important realisation that she needed to change her life. On the surface she has it all, great job with a good salary, the recognition and respect from her colleagues. Her manager and the company like her and she has a good career progression and great prospects. But, and this is the biggie which is the crux of the problem. She realised that in having the great job/career with a good salary etc. that her employer just about owned her life. She no longer felt she had control over what happened in her life & because she was working such long hours she felt like she lived at work. All the time she was at work she was taking orders from someone else and dancing to their tune which was very different to the music she prefers for herself. At work she was expected to not only do her own job but often was expected to cover for colleagues, or had to drive long distances to attend meetings (in her own time) or ended up spending the precious time she managed to get at home planning something else for the next day. She had realised that the rat race stank.

She no longer had the time or energy to enjoy her money & she did not get to spend quality time at home being just herself or even with her family. Weekends she was either too exhausted or too busy catching up on her home jobs to go out and have fun, in short her life 'sucked'.

The money she earned very quickly began to look like a pretty duff deal for all the hours she spent working jolly hard. This realisation did not happen overnight it was more like a slow dawning then one day she saw the big picture & knew she had to take action. When she did see it she felt submerged like she was drowning and did not know how to swim to the surface because of the weight of the water on top of her and the weights pulling down at her feet. This was the point she knew she had to change & she said to me 'I am ready to change because this is my life & I want to begin to enjoy it and own it as mine!'.

I know that this is no isolated case as every single week I speak to people who are now ready to move their lives to a place where they 'own' it, 'enjoy' it & live it on their own terms. By taking the initial decision to change the hardest part has been done.Once yourmindset has been changed at a very deep subconscious level and the energy to commit to change your life is now there. Once this commitment has been made there is no going back and you just cannot wait to move forwards to the change and all that it brings with it. You begin to see your life differently as something very precious that is not to be given away or 'hijacked' by anyone else. You begin to set the rules and to decide what is worthy of you spending your time on.

Working for yourself based at home is the most liberating way of working. Workingfrom home onlineis truly the most time efficient way of working as the new technology now allows us to automate our efforts and use leverage. Where I used to spend 9 or 10 hours per day working for a 'boss' I now spend 3 or 4 hours working for 'me' and guess what? I earn several times more than I ever did. So, do the math and work it out do you 'sell' your life to your employer or do you take a decision to change and reclaim what is yours anyway?

Re: Charge what you're worth Re: Charge what you're worth - [quote="Tami Szabo":292ze3jd]People will pay you what you ask. Very few will ever up the price. You are the one who decided what you are worth. The key is that we believe our services are worth the price we are asking.[/quote:292ze3jd] Hi Tami, You're absolutely right. In "Think and Grow Rich", Jessie B. Rittenhouse says "For Life is a just employer, He gives you what you ask, But once you have set the wages, Why, you must bear the task. I worked for a menial's hire Only to learn, dismayed , That any wage I had asked of Life, Life would have willingly paid" (Napoleon Hill 35). I think the same can be said when setting prices on eBay or Craigslist, especially when people are trying to haggle you.
