I recently watched an awesome Utube video by David Attenborough which encapsulated persistence in a nutshell. The documentary was about the Kalahari Tribes people who haven't changed the way in which they kill their prey for thousands of years.

A small group of tribe's men tracked a herd of Kudu and after a while singled out a large male, eventually one of the tribe's men on his own continued to track the male Kudu for eight hours.

Most of that time he spent running following the tracks of the Kudu, occasionally he replenished his dehydration with water he carried with him, but otherwise he didn't stop tracking the animal.

Until eventually the Kudu unable to shelter long enough from the heat, collapsed with exhaustion and was quickly dispatched by the tribesman.

This Kalahari tribesman ran for eight hours in the sweltering heat to attain his mission of providing food for his kinsmen, his persistence eventually paid off.

The enemy that stands between you and your lack of success in your computer home business is lack of persistence.

Persistence is a state of mind and therefore can be cultivated, below is a list of attributes you will need.

1. Knowing what you want: a strong motive forces you to move forward.

2. Desire:

3. Self-reliance: belief in your ability

4. Definiteness of plans: being organised encourages persistence

5. Accurate knowledge: knowing that your plans are based on solid knowledge

6. Co-operation with others

7. Will-Power: concentrates your thoughts to build your plan

8. Habit: what you do every day become part of who you are

The tribesman didn't have the luxury of throwing in the towel, and giving up at the first obstacle, persistence paid off.

At what point should you give up on your computer home business NEVER EVER GIVE UP, come hell or high water you just do not give up.

That's the mark of true champion; your success is my business I won't give up on you either.

secure my connection - I agree with Link's second post. Security is a personal sticky issue and possibly not the first service you should introduce yourself at the door. I'd suggest also the Back to School "In-Home" Computer tuneup (it's such a pain to take your computer in for servicing) and promise that they would see a smoother and faster computer. You can hand them a 2 page report on the benefits of having a computer tuneup -> this is critical. After you are gone this is the only piece of information that they will have to begin trusting you and want to have you in their home. You can sneak at the bottom of the report the benefits of having a wireless connection and the importance of Securing it. finish off the report with two dotted rounded rectangle boxes beside each other. One has a free Computer tune up assessment and the other a free wireless network security test. If they take you up on either you can test for the other. You now have two sources of possible income.
Re: Does Anyone have any New Ideas for a Business - An idea is only the beginning. The solution is the key here. I really like the term "turn key solution" and in fact use it as many times as I can in my life. Successful franchises and businesses know exactly what, who, how, where, when and why prior to ever dropping $1 in the bank account. This is what makes people millionaires. Harvest ideas into well oiled machines. A business needs to run itself and sustain itself. If you can show this on paper and show consistent growth in a real world scenario, you will always have a winner. Sounds easy, doesn't it? I'm still working on that myself. It's amazing how many difficult to answer questions come up. Persistence is then key.
