7 tips for writing blog articles.

Article Overview: When it comes to article writing it can often be hard to find the right words or order to use them. My article is designed to assist you in writing your article in as short amount of time as possible and as you get into this habit it will only get easier for you.

7 tips for writing blog articles.

1. Write down your topic.

As soon as you think of what you want to write about, jot it down on a piece of paper. The amount of times I had thought of great content but have been in middle of something and then forgotten the topic when it came to sitting at my desk wondering what I could write about! These days I write the topic down as soon as it occurs to me even if I'm in the middle of playtime with my daughter and have to borrow a crayon to save the thought!

2. List the Main Points

When I key the title into my laptop, the key points normally follow. If I plan to write a bulleted article then I write the bulleted sub-headings, or if I plan to write an essay style post then I would write the first sentence of three to five main areas that will be discussed.

3. Your introduction

Once I have decided where the main points are headed with the beginning of each paragraph done I can write an introduction to these points. The aim here is to sell the article; to keep the reader interested enough to keep reading. The introduction should be 1 - 2 paragraphs long, basically, a few sentences that will sum up what the entire article is going to be about.

4. Expand each point to a paragraph or two

Now it's time to work on the body of the article. Expand the key points to explain in detail what you are trying to say. It doesn't matter what order you work at or about spelling or grammar for now, just write things down as they come to you.

5. Revise your post

Most blogging software will allow you to view your blog as the public will see it; I strongly recommend that you do this before finalising the post. You need to read your post from start to finish and make sure that the order of words and sentences you have used all make sense.

You should also be checking for spelling mistakes. There is nothing more off putting to a reader than a so called 'educating article' written by an illiterate!

6. Create Meta Data and Tags

Create 8 - 10 tags that directly describe your article, use the same tags as Meta Keywords. Don't abuse the use of Meta data at risk of them being ignored by the search engines and considered as spam.

7. Publish your blog article

After revising your article again publish the post for the public to view.

In summary, I have found these 7 steps for blog article writing to be a good template to follow when I sit down to write. I hope you have found these tips just as useful!

Do your blog "write" - In regards to your question about whether to hire a copywriter, ask yourself how comfortable you are with writing the articles. Can you consistently write blog articles that people will read (there's a whole technique to blog writing, including scannability, length, using bullets, etc)? If your time is better spent doing what you're good at, and that's not writing, hire someone. Better to spend the money and have it done right than be stressing out every time you have to post!

I always save the email my affiliates send me with interesting questions and try to make an article out of them. Another tip is to find an old article you wrote: 5 tips to... or 3 steps to... and create a blog post out of each tip or step. This is one way to get 3 or 5 articles from one article. My last tip for you is to keep a stock of titles for dry days, just take one and write an article around it.

Next step: how about writing articles for some article directories such as ezinearticles.com and including a link to your blog - not in the article, but in the "about the writer" box at the foot of the article? Re: What are the ways to start a business with a small capital? - Hi John, I agree with the others, get yourself a blog, join a few affiliate programs related to music, write articles and submit them to article directories with a link to your blog in the resource box (no links in the article itself) and create a Squidoo lens. Re: Tough decision, would appreciate your input. - Hi LoveInventions, I agree with many of the points made here already. If you don't love it, you won't do well at it. If you read any of the stories on my website about the famous entrepreneurs and how they got started, they always talk about the importance of loving what you are doing. I would suggest tapping into what you loved about creating the site. If it's just the writing that you don't enjoy, you can outsource it. On my site, for example, I've hired someone to research and write my famous entrepreneur profiles and we have over 2,000 authors who contribute articles. I also have two blogs where people guest post once per month. If you're not making much money and can't afford a writer yet then you can often convince people to do it for free for the publicity. I also write a blog on Honus Wagner, a personal hobby blog, and I take the approach of writing once per week so it doesn't get overwhelming . Good luck!
