FAQ’s of Social Marketing Answered

There are lots of social networking sites that can boost your business ranking in the search engines and offer you some good free advertising. But which one/s do you choose? Yes free advertising is great for any business but these sites are very time consuming as you need to update them and communicate very regularly.

It is a much wiser choice to regularly update one or two social sites rather than make a small presence on many.

Before promoting your site you need to prepare it so it looks professional and all ready because first impressions matter. You could consider outsourcing a designer to have a professional looking background cost for this is around $100 and pays off in a great way as you will have permanent professional looking free advertising which attracts more friends, followers and interest in your site.

Invite the world when your site is ready. If somebody follows you, follow them back and communicate regularly weather this be about business or pleasure.

Build up your friends/followers. Aim high with numbers.

Social media marketing is SEO on steroids, it has the ability to reach across all the important places for your niche on the Internet. All you need to do is maintain your site frequently, adding fresh quality content on a regular basis and keep a social presence.

As the saying goes, 'fish where the fish are'. Use sites with enormous numbers of followers/friends and potential customers. There are lots of sites to choose from, some specific to the industry you are in and others that are purely social sites where everybody is welcome. You only need to be a part of a couple to see results.

A good way to find out where you are most likely to find people interested in what you are promoting could be to survey some of your existing customers to find out their social media preferences.

The search engines are all over social media sites at the moment. An updated profile will rate in the rankings with various keyword searches, all at no cost. You can leverage expertise and become an authority in your niche with followers or friends in social media groups. Your business will be the "first call" when customers want to learn about products and services in your niche.

Never before have companies had the upper hand in easy low cost advertising to a variety of easy to reach people with interests in what the company has to offer. Learn how to leverage this effective new tool for your business or you will soon be left behind.

Wishing you Success

Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Re: Should Evan add a "Social Media Marketing" category to the f Re: Should Evan add a "Social Media Marketing" category to the f - Hi, Online Marketing would be a great title, and having sub categories would make it even better, there would plenty of categories to choose from, Social Media, SEO, Article Marketing and yes even Affiliate Marketing to name just a few, great looking site btw Jeff, take care, Carol
Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Everyone, 2009 is a new year and I'd like to create a new forum category to jazz things up! In the past, there's been some interest voiced about adding a "Social Media Marketing", "Online Marketing", "Internet Marketing" or "Online Promotion" category. I'll implement [u:1g2tv6tf]ONE[/u:1g2tv6tf] of those new categories, but can someone first tell me what the difference would be between the existing "Marketing" section and one of those new options mentioned above? Thanks
Re: Kevin needs "social glue" ideas Re: Kevin needs "social glue" ideas - Hi, I like the idea of "10 items that could act as "social glue" because I am an internet marketer. But I agree with the rest that the 10 recent post is nice. Maybe we should open up a new section in the forums on Social Media...or Social Media Marketing. I will tell you that the world is about 1 1/2 behind when it comes to understanding social media. Building a section now will put EvanCarmichael.com is a great position a year down the road when people realize Social Media can produce more traffic than SEO. Jeff
Re: Should Evan add a "Social Media Marketing" category to the f Re: Should Evan add a "Social Media Marketing" category to the f - Just as an update, Evan has extended the poll's expiration date and says he'd like to see at least 25 "yes" votes before implementing the new category. Moreover, it would probably be called "Online Marketing" instead of Social Media Marketing".
