- Choose your keywords. Keywords are the most basic component to your campaign. We are all consumers of some sort so we should have a good idea of where to start where keywords are concerned. There are also keyword research tools available online, such as wordtracker.com, which will assist you in finding the most successful keywords.
- Be the consumer. Take the time to put the shoe on the other foot. Go to various search engines and research the keywords. When the results show ads that are positioned higher than yours click on the link to see what that ad has that yours may be lacking.
- Dont limit yourself. Google, Yahoo and Bing are the biggest search engines and can attract the most traffic overall, but the search doesn't end there. Research the second tier engines such as Shopzilla, AOL and Pricegrabber. Doing this could increase your traffic at a much lower cost.
- Keep ads Fresh. Do not let your advertising campaign go stale. Add fresh content on a regular basis, keep it informative and interesting to the reader. Examine what you have produced, what works and what others may be lacking. Take what you have learned here to produce fresh content.
- Keep up to date with the competition. Research what the others are doing and stay on top. Try to keep in front if you can, check out Google Trends to keep in the know and stay up to date with your campaign.
- Convert your strategy to increase the sale of your goods. Your aim is obviously to have plenty of clicks, but this is useless if your clicks do not generate sales. Test your conversions by using many ads for each of your online promotions. A good strategy may include using four ads of the same promotion. The click on each of your ads should lead your visitor to a different page of your website. This technique can help you to identify which pay per click ads can convert clicks into sales.
