They are a dime a dozen and frankly, who opens these emails these days anyway. In the article below I will show you some techniques that I use to stay ahead of the pack in email marketing and how to achieve success.

Top 5 Tips To Achieve Success With Email Marketing

The ultimate goal in email marketing is to attract the potential customer enough to open your email, read it, and then click on a link to your website or link to more information. With so many email addresses available to send out your information to it can be a fantastic marketing tool in your marketing strategy. Let's face it, nearly everybody we know has an email address for work, for private use (often a few) so we can see the reach we can achieve if we market it successfully.

This brings us to my Top 5 Tips for achieving success in email marketing;

Tip 1 - Write a"must open" subject line.

To stand out from the crowd with your opening subject line is your goal, so set yourself a target to really offer something different to the rest. Forget about the FREE or DISCOUNT openings as 9 out of 10 emails seem to start with these words. Great subject lines telegraph the content of the message and promise a product, service, or outcome of real value. Try a subject line such as: "Email marketing - Learn how you could potentially reach every person on the planet". Something like this subject line, tells you what you can learn and how it can benefit your company.

Tip 2 - Make sure your message is clear from the beginning.

Your readers are busy and don't want to be fooled into opening an email that has tricked them into being opened. Be direct and clear with a firm statement of what you are offering. Many email sales messages open with a lengthy reminder to the reader that he's opted in to the mailing and detailed instructions on how to opt out. This statement is an important courtesy, but at the beginning of the message it squanders prime real estate, the first screen. You must give the reader the "opt in" information, but put it at the end of your message.

Tip 3 - Deliver a single message.

When you've gone to great effort and expense of compiling an email marketing list you may be tempted to get your money's worth by using the list to tell all potential customers about everything you do: the summer sale, three or four hot new products, etc but don't.

Most Email readers have short attention spans and don't have enough time to digest more than one message. The best strategy for delivering multiple email sales messages is to write a separate message for each thing you're trying to sell.

Tip 4 - Provide value

In return for opening and reading your communication, give readers something of value: useful information or a special offer, and perhaps something free or discounted. This is obviously in the body of the email and is where you attract the potential customer to click on the link to your website.

Tip 5 - Include a call to action

Your compelling subject line and customer-oriented lead have done the trick: you've gotten the reader to open your message. You've offered insider information and showed readers how your product or service will benefit them. Now go the distance and tell your readers exactly what you want them to do.

Don't just tell them to check out your site. Tell them what action to take. Invite them to sign up for your free newsletter, enter a raffle, buy your product.

I am sure these 5 techniques will benefit you greatly when it comes to marketing yourself, a product or website through email marketing.
