Article Overview: Article Marketing is a great way to establish yourself as an authority in the industry. It is also simple, low/zero cost and very effective in bringing quality traffic to your website. You do not need to be a highly experienced writer to be able to distribute effective articles.

Top Tips for Successful Article Marketing

The following steps will help you to be able to write a quick article that will benefit others and yourself, and, once you get into the habit of article marketing it will come easily to you.

• Define your target audience:

Who will be interested in the particular article you plan to write?

What type of person will this article benefit?

What do they do for a living?

What are their values?

What is their income at the moment?

What are their income goals?

What is their definition of success?

What are they looking for in life?

Try to be as narrow as possible with this step to ensure that your audience are getting the full benefits out of their reading. It could be somebody very similar to you or you could branch out and target somebody different.

• Select your keyword

Keywords are a necessity to bring your article up in the Search Engines, therefore you will want to optimise your article with a 'long tailed' keyword, e.g.; 'Home Business' short tailed 'How to find the right home business for you' long tailed. (It is also a good idea to use your long tailed keyword as your title).

• Choose your Topic

When you are starting out it is a great idea to base your article around your initial concerns with starting an online business. By addressing these concerns you are focusing on peoples valid frustrations, just like you had.

• Write your article

Try to do this in less than 30 minutes. Get your point across in an understandable way while not going into too much detail. Make a list of 3 main points and 5 sentences to back up those points. Here are the first sentences of the 5 paragraphs you intend to write. Write a few sentences to back up the start of each paragraph, and here is the body of your article. Then simply write an introduction to your article for your introductory paragraph. To finish it up, write 2-3 sentences that sum up your main paragraphs and this will give people the final solution, perfect for the closing paragraph.

These simple steps toward article marketing are a sure way to help you with the ease of getting your material out there. I hope this will help you to benefit others and to begin to reach your goal with online articles.

Re: Traffic! How do you get it? - Traffic is the lifeblood of your internet business and it is one of the most popular questions asked all the time how do I get more traffic. The following are some good strategies that are proven to work to help ou gain traffic to your website A) Forum Marketing b) Article Marketing - (Where you distribute your content is the key to success with Article marketing) c) Video Marketing d) Blogging e) Social Media ( sharing content amoungst a targeted network of friends or creating Fan Pages and updating) f) Ezine advertising ( send solo mailings to email lists of people within your niche) Go to google and type in your niche name followed by ezine or newsletter g) Pay per Click H) Joint ventures and ad swaps ( generally will need a list of email subscribers of your own) I) Classified adverts online J) Banner and Image ads - go to google and type in google image ads - full tutorial their I would reccomend you pick one strategy and learn it until you can generate some great traffic and then you should look to move on and implement other strategies.

I also use Article Marketing, Social Networking and Blogging which I find a very good way to get traffic to my site and also gain valuable backlinks. Take care, Carol
