Stay at Home Job - What is the most important thing that you don't know? It can be a challenge having a stay at home job. Are you struggling with your home based business? Do you need more leads? By using Google Ad Words to market your business you are using the best marketing platform in the world. But you must play by Google's rules. And they change their rules. Recently, we have seen BIG changes to their landing page/website guidelines. You now must include a few things within your website that have not been required in the past. It is very important that you do these things on your website or you will be banned by Google Ad Words and never be allowed to market with them again.
So the most important things that you don't know about your stay at home job and company website are as follows: These are the 3 components necessary in the new landing page quality score.
- Be Relevant! You must be relevant with your keywords and content within your website/landing page. The keywords that your prospect is typing must be relevant to your website that you have put into your ad on Google Ad Words.
- Be Transparent! In other words you must have your own privacy policy in regards to collecting prospects data. You must be transparent with who you are, what you company is, business address etc... Your site must contain certain standards for Google to give you a high rank on landing page quality score.
- You must have Original Content on your website. Be Creative! You cannot have a bridge or mirror page. Stay away from system driven pages on your site. And consistently keep "fresh" content on your site, once per month.

- Hi Yinka,
I work better under pressure of deadlines when I am doing something for other people. However, I like to have the leisure to develop my own projects. The first case is what Stephen Covey calls a "Quadrant 1" activity ("Important and urgent") whereas the second case is a "Quadrant 2" activity ("Important, not urgent").
We should aim to make as much time as possible for Q2 activities so that we can develop our own projects. Easier said than done!

- I agree with SHri, it really depends on the target audience and how much service you really need.
if you are doing National campaign than you want a firm that has the National contacts. Lots of smaller companies dont have as many resources or connections.
Many firms are going to a pay for performance model which I think will do the PR and advertising industry good. no more $5000 retainers for sending out a couple of press releases - no matter how well written or targeted!
if they dont get picked up, they dont get paid.

- HI,
I have used trade shows (not participated) to collect potential clients. For example, the Home & Garden Industry is extremely behind the time in regards to their websites. I attended an Home & Garden Expo in Denver and collected all the companies contact information. I plan on cold calling & mailing information to each business.
It also gave me time to research the industry more, talk directly to the owners in many cases, and learn more about what they need.

Please dont apologize for feeling like you dont know or understand enough business. At least you know you have some things to learn and are willing to do that.
One of the best things you can do write now is start studying business plans and learning about market research. You can find some amazing resources online and at the library. Before you spend the money on a patent you can be gathering crucial data and testing the viability of the product.
One of my favourite resources is a book called "The Art of the Start". Guy K. (I dont know how to spell his last name). You can also visit a local enterprise centre/business centre. I'm sure you have one close by. They can help you on a personal level to know what steps to take to start.
