Article Overview: Ok, so you did massive research about the company you currently partnered up with - right? How much of a research did you do? So often when new recruits join up with a company, they are not at all too sure what the company is all about, what the products are and what it is they should be doing to promote the company / resources or services. They merely see dollar signs in front of them. Take time out to look at the person who you are signing up with. How competent are they as a mentor and upline sponsor.

5 Key Things To Look For In A Sponsor
Ok, so you did massive research about the company you currently partnered up with - right? How much of a research did you do? So often when new recruits join up with a company, they are not at all too sure what the company is all about, what the products are and what it is they should be doing to promote the company / resources or services. They merely see dollar signs in front of them. Take time out to look at the person who you are signing up with. How competent are they as a mentor and upline sponsor.
New recruits can get dazzled by fancy words, smooth operators or pushy mentors, so much so that when the recruit asks about the bread and butter of the company they may often get a wishy washy answer from someone who is only interested in recruiting to build up their 'downline' to get that quick sale. Here are some key things to look for in a sponsor.
1. As a new recruit when you come across an online opportunity, look at it closely.
Find out when the company was established, what their track record is and what their leadership team are like. When looking at an opportunity you have to seriously think about how does it fit with your current values and ideals. Ensure you do your market research to find out if the product or service is viable and sustainable long term. Do you feel a connect with the product or services? If you don't feel that then the business may not be for you.
2. Find out about the company or the person who is presenting the opportunity. Google their name, see what comes up on them. Get a feel for who they are, what their business ethics are all about. If you cannot find the person's name through Google or other search engines, this shows they may not be advertising their business effectively and utilising social media to their advantage. Alarm bells should be ringing, how are they getting leads? If you find the person through searching for them online, if they are genuine they would not mind you contacting them.
3. How available is your upline or mentor? Are their other measures in place to support you? Many sponsors are not necessarily in the same country as you, therefore there could be a time difference, however, this should not stop you effectively creating a relationship and getting the advice and support you need to grow your business. This is possible today through email, conference calls, Skype, telephone calls and live events.
4. IS your sponsor talking the talk and walking the walk? Again, your sponsor should be tightly linked into the company following training calls, attending live events and seen to be helping others in their team to move up the ladder with them. This is really something you can get a true feeling of when you first show interest in the company, as your potential sponsor may go through with you the level of training and hours you will need to spend each week to bring yourself up to entrepreneur mode and get your business up and running quickly.
5. How often does your sponsor provide team training outside of the company's training schedule? This is key if your business is to grow, and let's face it, it is in your sponsors interest to pass on their knowledge to you as it will effectively benefit them also.
You are ultimately responsible for your own business, you are accountable for the actions needed to develop and grow your business must come from you, but your sponsor is there to act as a guide and support you along the way. Try to be resourceful for yourself, your sponsor has a task to lead by example, they are busy building their own business, and therefore if there is a back office training available, make sure you go through this for yourself to bring yourself up to speed at your own pace. Use your sponsor sparingly, but meaningfully. I remember the first time I had the opportunity of talking to a very successful millionaire member of the opportunity I was in, I had to make exceptional use of the time I had, as it was limited. I had to think of what is was I wanted to get out of them during my time with them, and present that in a way in which I would get the most suitable and beneficial answer to help me with my business. It took a lot of planning in advance and thinking about the objective and result I was looking for in order to get a meaningful and purposeful answer.
So these top 5 tips should help steer you on course to finding a suitable sponsor and propel you and your business forward. If you have any other tips that others may find useful, feel free to leave me a comment below.
