Defeat can only lead to success if you learn and take action
Everyone suffers from defeat now and again, but it is what you do or think when you are defeated that makes the difference. There are those of us, who when defeated simply walk away and vow never to try that again, or become involved in such activities again. This is true of most network marketers or business owners who start out very positive wanting to achieve a dream to work for themselves, and when the going gets difficult, they simply give in too easily and walk away. Statistics have shown that 97% of New Businesses fail within their first 3 - 5 years of starting up.
Regardless of whether you have a business or not, where conditions arise which may lead to defeat, here are some worthwhile lessons we could all take away in how to make that defeat a victory and turn it around into something positive.
If you look back in time at some very famous people, Thomas Edison for example, how many times did he try to get the light bulb to light up? It took him over a thousand attempts, did he give up? Well proof today is he did not. Instead, he learned from each attempt, and in doing so he changed what he did next.
Take Donald Trump, it took him many years to build up his empire, but did you know he lost it all more than once, but did he just walk away from it all? Today Donald Trump is a billionaire worth more than $2billion dollars. He didn't just accept defeat he looked at what lessons he could take from it and when on to take action.
SO what could we learn from these two examples.
* Study your set backs. Looking back and seeing where you went wrong, learning lessons from your set backs is key to moving forward.
* Be your own constructive critic. Look to seek out your weaknesses and faults, note them down and look to how you could correct them. Self development, more understanding of one's self can go a long way to improving your outlook on things.
* Stop blaming others or even luck. Blame stops with yourself, examine and look at why things did not work out the way you wanted them to.
* Blend persistence with experimentation. Keep the focus on your goal, but try new approaches. See things with 'new' eyes.
* Remember there is a good side to every situation. You need to learn to find it and see the good side, and turn your back on discouragement.
Knowing all of the above, it is now in your hands to go out there and turn your life around. Turn your defeat into a victory, learn from your mistakes, but importantly take action.
