Handy Tips to Help Your Creativity

These are some handy tips I have gleaned through re-reading The Magic of Thinking Big by David J Schwarz.

Now this is so easy for you to do, all you have to do is to take 10 minutes at the beginning of each day. Block the time out in your diary or in your schedule and ask yourself the following: You will need paper and pen to note any thoughts down.

1. How can I do a better job today? - list down all the thoughts that come to mind

2. Ask yourself, what can I do today to encourage my colleagues

3. What special favour can I do for my clients / customers

4. What can I do to improve my personal efficiency today

This is so simple an exercise to do, and it really does help you to focus on the tasks to hand on a daily basis.

In his book David J Schwartz talks about having a self improvement plan. What is this you say. Well, by asking the questions above and blitzing out the ideas on a piece of paper, you will eventually come up with a plan that you can effectively put into place during that week, and over time if monitored or reviewed will show practical improvements and results.

Be more receptive to ideas given to you by other colleagues, co-workers, clients. Get rid of the 'can't work' 'not the way it is done' attitude. Be more open as to how it can be done, expanding on the thoughts and ideas to create more positive ideas and possibly solutions.

3 for 1 - Thats a tough job, a single word as an expression of thought for a word like 'internet' is sure a difficult one ! However, I could think of a number of them - they are : 1. Creativity 2. Freedom 3. Universe Hope this is of help.
Internet Marketing - Creativity or originality would be good words. you might want to try two words; after all, you are trying to suggest a complex idea that combines at least two concepts: marketing and internet. in other words, the concept has to evoke an action (marketing), how (honestly, responsibly?) and by what means you are going to carry that action out (internet). Re: Is A Business Plan A Waste Of Time? - If you require funding a business plan is an absolute must. A formal written business plan, not a PowerPoint slide show. A few yrs ago I attempted to start a brick and mortor, original start up and required $300K. When I learned I would need a business plan I panicked and put the idea to bed. Two yrs later the idea was aching to be born so I studied and researched and wrote my own bp. It took me only 3 wks from start to finish complete with all financials. When I took it to the SBDC the counslors were floored that I'd it myself with no canned templates or software. They loved it and sent me to local banks for funding. The loan officers I met with were thrilled that I came in with a complete, formal business plan. They said they were appalled at the number of people that walk in asking for loans to start a business and they didn't even bother with a bp. Since then I have always written my own business plans. When searching for franchises I wrote a bp for each franchise I was interested in to have cold hard facts in hand and know which was the most viable. Handy little things those dreaded business plans...
