The New Internet Marketing Game in Town Creating the Next Millionaires

Many dream of making money with an online business. There are many reasons that motivate individuals to embrace entrepreneurialism and join an industry that is so powerful that traditional companies are now borrowing its best features to apply to their operations.

The old employment model is breaking apart. Many individuals have found their careers have hit a dead-end. Some are walking away from success and money after years of hard work and building a lucrative career. All of those that dream of being an entrepreneur with an online business are joining the ranks of the New Professionals.

The New Professionals are finding rewards rarely found in their former occupations and these include time freedom and the satisfaction of building a business on their own.

Because franchises, or family owned brick and mortar businesses, are frequently high cost and high risk ventures, many are searching for a way to setup an online business because the startup costs and ongoing operating costs are very low. Plus, with an online business, you can be in business from anywhere you can operate your laptop computer, obtain an internet connection, and use your cell phones to speak with prospects and customers. This operating characteristic provides a type of lifestyle freedom and a new approach to work, family and lifestyle that is desired by many. In addition, an entrepreneurial career means diversifying your activities and developing several streams of income increasing your chances of developing crash-proof prosperity.

What do the New Professionals do with their online business and what are their multiple income streams?

The New Professionals are leveraging the whirlwind of technology advances, including Internet developments, to transform one of the most common entrepreneurial activities, sometimes called direct sales, or network marketing, into the next generation of entrepreneurial opportunities. These opportunities are transforming network marketing into a business activity that is entirely comprised of intellectual distribution where the entrepreneurial New Professionals inform consumers about new and better products, they don't even know about yet, that can improve the quality of the consumer's lives.

Let's take a quick look at where millionaires come from and how Intellectual Distribution, which is the New Game in Town, is being created by the New Professionals who are the Next Millionaires.

For thousands of years, economic opportunity has largely been in the hands of those who controlled physical resources such as large amounts of land, steel, grain, cattle, or other very important physical economic staples; this was the era of resource millionaires.

In addition, millionaires were created by those that did the transportation of those resources; these were the great shipping and railway magnates.

For the past two centuries, a large number of people became millionaires by finding cheaper ways of making things; this was the era of manufacturing millionaires.

Back in the 1950s and 60s, 50 percent of a retail product represented manufacturing costs and the other 50 percent represented distribution costs.

During the 1960s, 70s, and 80s, young and bright entrepreneurs improved the technology of manufacturing. They re-engineered the expensive raw materials and labor into plastics and flexible automated manufacturing processes such that they completely restructured the economics of retail and created a whole new area of opportunity; this led to the rise of Sam Walton who started Wal-Mart and Fred Smith who created FedEx and the era of the distribution millionaires.

As an example, if you take an item like a TV, camera, or dress that cost $300 in the 50s or 60s, that same item sold for $300 in the 90s but with far superior quality, more features, and were essentially available anywhere as a result of overnight shipping.

If you examined the component costs of the $300 item in the 90s, you would see the product and manufacturing cost had been reduced from 50 percent (the percentage in the 50s and 60s) to 15 to 20 percent of the total cost and the distribution cost had been increased from 50 percent (the percentage in the 50s to 60s) to 80 to 85 percent of the total cost.

It is clear that Sam Walton, Fred Smith, and other entrepreneurial people (like Jeff Bezos of Amazon and Pierre Omidyar who started eBay) became millionaires distributing things that other people made, had created a new era of distribution millionaires. They are shifting the opportunity for wealth creation from manufacturing to distribution just as entrepreneurs before them shifted the wealth creation opportunity from resources to manufacturing.

We are in the midst of a home-based business boom (with no signs of slowing) and following the approach described above about how millionaires are created, the New Professionals are shifting the opportunity for wealth creation to a New Game in Town. This shift is driving the direct sales industry from a network marketing approach to one of Intellectual Distribution using an online business model; the New Game in town is indeed creating New Professionals who will be the Next Millionaires.

The second part of this post will provide the keys to online marketing success?

By using the Internet to market your products and drive sales, you will be using the key tactics you need to succeed in the New Economy. It is clear the next Industrial Revolution is upon us and it is indeed happening online. The Internet is the new global stage for the modern symphony of commerce. Those that learn how to leverage this most powerful of platforms will be its conductors; and they will make music, and money, at the same time.

Many high profile business leaders, including the Oracle of Omaha, suggest that if you don't focus on being an online entrepreneur, being self-employed, or being a small business owner, it will be a very tough road in the months and years ahead; actually they say, it will be an uphill battle.

This suggestion is attracting current and former doctors, CEOs, and other members of the corporate workforce that are seeking a way to leave their established and lucrative careers. They are in pursuit of new opportunities in the world of Social Media and Internet Marketing so they can generate income, prestige, independence, and financial rewards that exceed the levels obtained by most in their previous careers.

Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Internet Marketing Conference on SLife - I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways.. a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak. Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc.. Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL. There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.

You sound like a very enthusiastic person who likes what she does and in Internet Marketing that is very important and you also sound like a 'people person' which is great. Internet Marketing is time consuming and challenging but can also be extremely rewarding and hopefully profitable. I don't know how many forums you have signed up to but this is one of the best. The support and guidance you get here is what makes it the success that it is but as I am sure you know from looking at the side bar that there are many aspects of business that are catered for here which will help you along the way, best wishes, Mal.
Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.

When I expanded from the Japanese games niche to the Internet marketing business niche (much more competitive, and much more lucrative if you can make it work) I wasn't making any month until I started a service - my Internet marketing plr article club. Creating low cost, low priced services has been a good way for me to get close to customers and to get repeat sales plus affiliate sales on the back too. Gotta long way to go still, but I now have several services and a few products of my own to bring in front-end cash.
