Multi-Level Marketing

Multi-level marketing or MLM is one business strategy that we have all been exposed to at some point in our lives. Before there were governing regualtions MLM got a bad name for taking people's money and filling their basement or garage with boxes of products. This has generally been outlawed in many states for the scam that it was. However, what lingers today is the historical memory that won't update so the load up scam still pervades the marketing strategy. Too bad.

1. MLM has several positive aspects that are often overshadowed by the negatives:

2. You don't need set up selling systems

3. Education and trainingare available, often for free

4. You can work part time

5. Cost of entry is low, compared to starting a business from scratch

MLM is as much a people business as it is a prodcuts/services distribution channel. All MLM companies have as a basic approach for the representatives to build their business by getting other people to do the same thing. So, what should you look for when deciding if MLM is for you?

Look at the pay plan. If it is contingent on the configuration of people you bring into your business called "downline" don't get involved, you'll never make any money.

Look at the products/services and see if you are comfortable representing them to family and friends.

Most important, look at the people who will be your upline, the person who is sponsoring you in the business. If you are not comfortable with that person or the upline in general you will probably not succeed.

Try an MLM, you might be surprised. I was.
