You know, the vast majority of Network Marketing businesses fail and the vast majority of people in MLM spend out more money than they earn. Those, we are told, are the facts. If you have an Internet Marketing business maybe you’re not having much success yourself.

There are countless business opportunities being offered at any one time on the Internet - opportunities in Direct Sales, MLM and Network Marketing - and some of them sound like really good deals, but lots of people try many attractive sounding options without success before finally settling on their ideal choice. So it looks as if some guidance is in order to all of you prospective entrepreneurs so that you don’t waste your valuable time (not to mention money paid out setting up those different business options), when you could, instead, be bucking the trend and earning lots of money.

There are definite areas that you should research before deciding upon your new venture and the first thing to do is to look for a unique item to market. It’s no use trying to peddle a popular product that’s been flooding the market for years that anyone can nip round the corner to their local store and get, without having to wait for you to deliver and without having to pay transport costs. It not only has to be unique though, it must be something that there’s a demand for. In fact you need a product that has huge potential. It’s no good whatsoever marketing a product that has only a local or limited appeal and, therefore, limited profitability. That’s the last thing you want. Being as you’re going to be marketing on the Internet, I would say that the potential you should be seeking should be a global potential, possibly something like knowledge or information of some description.

Having found a promising product the next stage is to look at the company itself. Is it strong? Is it vibrant? Are those who manage the company experienced, successful, innovative and do they offer a proven, duplicable marketing system that will ensure success for you - as long as you work hard of course, because you never get anything for nothing, despite what some of the adverts say!

Now we come to the main reason why people want to start a business in the first place and that, of course, is money! There are many compensation plans available, but ideally you should be looking for a compensation plan that gives you commission and a residual income as well. Just to confuse you, though, this sort of arrangement comes in a variety of packages, such as a good initial commission with low residual income or a low initial commission and good residual payments. Naturally, the ideal is to get the best of both worlds with a high commission and good residual income. The other consideration when talking about income is to determine when you get paid and that you don’t have to wait a month or two before your money arrives. That all sounds a rather tall order but there are really lucrative compensation plans available with commission paid up front. If you’re an entrepreneur, or prospective entrepreneur, I would recommend that you look for an opportunity with a top tier company that pays an up front commission of $1,000 or more up front, together with a good residual income.

One more essential consideration. You must make sure that the company of your choice has an energetic support and training programme readily available, with trainers and coaches offering initial and ongoing advice and training to ensure your success. There should be a help line and additional facilities such as an Internet forum for contact and help from fellow entrepreneurs within the company.

Re: Is it better to become an entrepreneur at an early age? - I think the best time to become an entrepreneur is not about your age, but your LIFE STAGE. In my opinion, it's ideal to start by your business before you have a spouse/kids/family and mortgage and just after you've worked a few years to save up some capital/work experience (which is easiest to do while still living at home with your parents. No shame in being able to save $1000-2000+ each month).
Re: Improving Cash Flow - Hi David, You are right, I was the same when I first started, and it is only after a bit of experience or maybe the assistance of a mentor that we find top tips and short cuts to avoid money problems with our basic outgoings.
