Becoming an online entrepreneur is more popular than ever. With the advent of massive layoffs globally, the economic stagnation of traditional businesses worldwide, decreased wages and benefits, and employees disdain for their jobs to name a few reasons for this phenomenon. Millions of people are starting their internet businesses to either supplement their income or totally replacing their former income. It is my belief and experience if you are planning on being an internet entrepreneur your timing couldn't be better. I will give to you some statistics regarding the usage and growth of the internet and a several types of online businesses you can research. The information you will receive from this article can assist you if you want to move forward in starting your internet marketing business.
Since its inception in the late 1970's the worldwide web has grown to have about 1.8 billion users globally in 2010 and is still growing exponentially. About 210,080,067 United States citizens use the internet. It is the fastest growing marketplace on the planet. According to ZenithOptmediadotcom, internet advertising dollars spent globally will account for 15.1% of all ad expenditure. Millions of businesses use the internet platform to sell their products and services. They have long realized "That there is gold in them there hills".
The following types of web based businesses are very popular and have proven to have great income potential. They are cpa networks, adsense- blogging, and network marketing. Also checkout eBay, affiliate marketing, and informational product selling. Do your research on each one of them, before you make a decision. If you feel that any of aforementioned businesses are not a good fit for you, do your research on other types of internet businesses and choose the one you will feel comfortable with and confident about.
In summary the worldwide web is a huge marketplace for entrepreneurs and is growing exponentially every day. Millions of businesses are producing mass amounts of revenue on a daily basis online. Research the types of business opportunities I mentioned above. If they aren't a good fit for you research others that may float your boat. Becoming an online entrepreneur has limitless potential in terms of changing your life style in a progressive manner.

- We are running a Online Marketing Firm and we have some good clients to which we are offering a complete Digital Marketing strategy like Search, Mobile Marketing, Branding and Design. I think in Online Marketing company online presence can be a wining factor for the success of the company.

I completely agree! Those are all just "internet marketing" as far as I am concerned.
And I normally would have voted for internet marketing, however I chose social media marketing simply because there are more than enough IM forums out there already.

2009 is a new year and I'd like to create a new forum category to jazz things up! In the past, there's been some interest voiced about adding a "Social Media Marketing", "Online Marketing", "Internet Marketing" or "Online Promotion" category.
I'll implement [u:1g2tv6tf]ONE[/u:1g2tv6tf] of those new categories, but can someone first tell me what the difference would be between the existing "Marketing" section and one of those new options mentioned above?

Okay - I have a request -- can the title be changed to "Online Marketing"?
The reason I'm asking is because people may not know what social media marketing is , while that would make me vote for it to learn more, but not every thinks like that. Also, online marketing could capture more attention when people spot in on the list.
