Internet Networking Marketing – Do You Know the Basics for Setting up a Twitter Profile and Page?
Many internet networking marketing entrepreneurs use Twitter as a means of communication. Designing a Twitter profile and page is an easy and simple process. However your page setup and profile requires forethought and should not performed recklessly. Your profile and Twitter page will reflect who you are as a person and the image you want to project. There are four basic steps to the process; I'll describe each of them.
The first step is setting up your Twitter account. After the account setup, is deciding your Twitter user name. If at all possible use your first and last name and maybe your middle initial. Your name will be an integral part of personal branding online and a part of email marketing accounts. If your name is already taken by someone else, use your name with a number following your name. For example if JamesJJones is taken, try JameJJones1. You can also use that same name for other social media accounts. Your name will let others find you quickly and easily on the major search engines. For example PaullBrooks is a wiser user name than Paulthemarketingguru Paul L Brooks is the name I use for personal branding and easily is searchable on the major search engines.
The second step is setting up your Twitter background. Twitter will provide you with a great selection of free backgrounds for your home page. You can have a custom background if you choose to pay for it. The paid sources would be twitterartdotcom and twitterimagedotcom, and their prices are very reasonable. It is important to setup your own personal background because it will distinguish you and should be a part of the image you want to project.
The third step is adding your picture to your home page. In my opinion based on my experience your photo should be on your home not a symbol or a stock photo. People tend to relate more readily to human photos more than inanimate objects or things. Your personal photo will also be a part of your personal branding in your internet networking marketing journey. Your picture should be of high quality and resolution, usually a head shot with a genuine smile. Remember you are projecting your image and it should be a positive one. In this example a picture really does paint a thousand words.
The fourth and final step is writing your unique Twitter profile. Once again writing your profile requires forethought. Your profile will be a very mini biography of you. Write two or three interesting facts about yourself. You want to tell who you are, what you do, and what you are about. There's no need to pitch your products or services that will be a total turnoff for most people. Social media is about letting your personality and character shine and developing positive mutual positive relationships in your internet networking marketing journey.
