Internet Networking Marketing – What Are Your Basic Expectations?

Internet Networking Marketing – What Are Your Basic Expectations?

People enter the world of internet networking marketing with a myriad of different basic expectations. Those expectations may be based on life experiences, aspirations, circumstances, and necessity to name a few. I will review with you some of those expectations based my experience in this business. You may want to re-assess your core reasons for entering the internet marketing business after reading this article.



Many potential entrepreneurs get involved with online business opportunities with the mindset of getting financially rich quickly. Very rarely does that occur. Online marketing can not be approached with a "lottery mentality". You may get financially wealthy in this business, but it's not going to happen instantaneously. If you are considering earning a mass sum of money quickly, to alleviate your money woes, you may want to reconsider other legitimate options. Internet marketing has much more to offer other than gaining financial wealth and material objects. It is about growing and developing as an entrepreneur and as a human being. Once again if your sole purpose is to earn a lot of money quickly, you will be only cheating yourself, and you may want to consider other legitimate alternative ways of being an entrepreneur. One added point I want to convey, is that internet networking offers countless intangibles that money simply can not buy, but that is a topic for another article.



What are you anticipating regarding the time, effort, and diligence regarding your business venture? You should allocate a specific amount of time to your business preferably on a daily basis, and adhere to that schedule as much as humanly possible. Your effort and diligence need to be at a consistently high level. If you are expecting to work your business whenever the urge strikes you and be lackadaisical in your effort and diligence, I seriously doubt your business will prosper.



Are you expecting to work your business on a full or part time basis? Based on my experience working your business full or part time depends on your employment status. If you are operating a business or a full time employee you most likely will enter your business opportunity on a part time basis due to time constraints. If you are unemployed or working part time you may want to enter your entrepreneurial endeavor on a full time basis. You can achieve great results working your online opportunity either full or part time.



Are you expecting to face hurdles, challenges, and distractions? The path of least resistance does not exist in the world of internet marketing.

You may fail more times than you succeed. You may have setbacks and disappointments you did not anticipate. Are you willing to overcome those roadblocks and continue to move forward? Or will you totally acquiescence after few feeble attempts remove those roadblocks from your path to success?



What are your basic expectations regarding learning and fine tuning your craft? Learning how to market your opportunity online is indispensable for your continuing success and growth as an entrepreneur. There will be a learning curve you must experience in order for your business to prosper. Are you willing to be a permanent student and commit yourself to the learning process? Will you try to re-invent the wheel, which will inevitably lead to your ultimate failure?



In summary you may want to change or modify some of you core expectations if you are planning on being a successful online entrepreneur. Let's review some key points. Getting financially rich quickly very seldom happens and is not realistic. Online marketing is exponentially more than gaining financial wealth; it is also about growing as a human being and as an entrepreneur. You can expect to devote your time, effort, and diligence to your business venture. You can anticipate obstacles distractions, and failures. Learning will be a constant in your online journey. Finally you owe to yourself to really examine your intentions before embarking on your journey as an online entrepreneur. Your home based internet business will require from you a great amount of substance and character, exponentially more than any shallow initial expectations.

Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Re: MLM Marketing, youtube, and buzzirk mobile. - I have experience with MLM too. My initial reaction to the business was "snake-oil salesman" but once I got to understand the "overall business model" I am now an advocate to it. MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) is also known as Network Marketing. I realized an MLM business is no different than any other business. One needs to focus on both words "Network" and "Marketing" and give both equal respect. Some people focus heavily on the Networking part but forget "Marketing". I've started to use Building on a Budget and Magnetic Sponsoring concepts in my NM business and have found that people don't get involved so much because of the product but more because of what you bring to the table as far as marketing systems and support. I have both products listed in my signature. you don't have to buy it as the link to the free videos itself provides you a good understanding of what is required to position yourself as my above paragraph. If you do plan on purchasing it I can tell you that the measly $40 will open your eyes BUT your upline will not be too happy (atleast in the short term) beacuse the system is not duplicateable. I wrote this post as a polar post to Bulmer's reply as I have exhausted the friends and family networking and realized i never really focused on marketing. My leads now are more qualified and open to hearing about my opportunity than the other way around. my 2 cents if you plan on growing an MLM or Networking Marketing business.
Internet Marketing Conference on SLife - I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways.. a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak. Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc.. Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL. There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.

You sound like a very enthusiastic person who likes what she does and in Internet Marketing that is very important and you also sound like a 'people person' which is great. Internet Marketing is time consuming and challenging but can also be extremely rewarding and hopefully profitable. I don't know how many forums you have signed up to but this is one of the best. The support and guidance you get here is what makes it the success that it is but as I am sure you know from looking at the side bar that there are many aspects of business that are catered for here which will help you along the way, best wishes, Mal.
Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.
