Ways of Increasing Conversions

Conversions are a much sought after component on websites. In actuality conversions are nothing more than when a visitor completes an action on your website. The act can be anything from sending an email, filling out a form or purchasing a product. It is a clear cut sign that visitors to your website are interested in developing a business relationship or that they are at least interested in the content you are offering.

Conversions also bring down your bounce rate, which is the undesirable occasion when a visitor lands on your site only to exit within mere minutes. It generally indicates that the visitor found nothing of interest or value on your site. This can occur when your site fails to provide interesting or unique content. It also happens when your site lacks an aesthetically pleasing layout. The importance of your website's design quality cannot be overstated. Take the necessary precautions to make sure your site is user-friendly and pleasant to the eye.

If you manage to foster a strong sense of community on your website you increase the odds of conversions. Playing host to an online forum provides users with the opportunity to interact with people with common interests. As a result, participants will return to your website continually in order to connect with their friends. You not only build a sense of unity but you establish yourself as a website that can be trusted. Visitors tend to view trustworthy websites as those which have earned feedback and open lines of communication. Therefore you will most likely see an increase in conversions.

E-mail newsletters or RSS feeds keep your clients abreast of your always changing website. If you add significant content to your site you can notify your visitors via these two forms of communication. In order to receive them however, users have to sign up for them thus resulting in a conversion. If you make certain your newsletter is filled with interesting and exclusive content visitors will be more than willing to enroll. You can even offer other incentives as well including bonus or discount deals should you sign up. Just make sure the enrollment process is simple and not the least bit time consuming - the last thing you want is to turn away potential conversions.

Re: 7 Top Blog Design Tips Re: 7 Top Blog Design Tips -

I only mentioned that the design of a site should be just as important because I personally won't stay at a site very long if the design looks like "crap." I'm not very picky by any means, but it's easy to tell if a site is just thrown together or whether the person took even a small amount of time to make it somewhat appealing. If the site looks horrible, it doesn't matter how good the content is, I'll leave. That's my own personal preference, so when creating my own sites, if I don't like how something looks, I'll change it until I like it. There's a good chance that there's someone else out there that will think close to the same as me. Meaning, if I think it looks appealing, then others out there will too. Hopefully, anyway. Also keep in mind you only have so many seconds to grab their attention, and chances are that they're looking at the overall design of the site before the awesome content.[/quote:2l8p7aqt] Hi Alan, I completely agree with you. I will leave a massy website, or even if the color is too bright. Like you I will take the time to work on my site until I am happy. It took me a long time to get my site to its look today, and guess what, now I am working on changing the entire layout.[/quote:2l8p7aqt] I know the feeling. I have changed the design and layout of my site three times now. I'm finally happy, for now, with how it looks. Conversions seem to be decent as well.

Where to print a book Where to print a book - [quote:39vg8s93]So, writing a chapter a day, I finished in a month, and Kidpreneur: Genius Ways for Kids to Pay For College was born. Currently my book is self published -- I just printed up 100 copies to give to all the people featured in the book, teachers, and some more to sell at $20.00 a piece (it costs $10.00 a copy at Kinko's, so it's not really an outrageous price). [/quote:39vg8s93] If at all possible, you need to stop using Kinko's now and go price some real printers. It should cost only a couple of dollars a piece, if that, to print your book. Admittedly you'll have to buy in bulk, but the overall savings - selling a $2 book for $20 so that you make an $18 profit instead of a measley $10.... is something every kidpreneur should think about!
Revenue Streams for Websites Revenue Streams for Websites - Too funny, I was just reading a book: Multiple Streams of Internet Income: How Ordinary People make extraordinary money on line, by Robert G. Allen. 2001 That's a misnomer, though - they're not ordinary people, they're people with established careers who can take their expertise and exploit it on the web. Ways to generate income? 1) Sell your own material on the site. Ebooks, etc. 2) Join various affiliate programs that match what your website is about. 3) Google adsense - All my money comes from this... it's started out slow but as readership of my sites grown, the income has grown. Nothing to write home about yet... 4) Google adwords - the advertisers whose ads show up on Google Adsense. Unless you're selling big ticket items on your site you don't want to use it, your keywords can cost from 20 cents upwards.
