What is wealth? Does wealth matter?

Wealth can mean something different to every person. To a poor man a £1000 would be a vast sum of money whereas to a millionaire it would be a pittance.

Generally within the world, wealth is regarded as an accumulation and a comfort. Whereas is in the Bible it is viewed as being everything that God has given us including family, friend s and opportunities and is not merely about the size of your bank account.

However, in order to enjoy the things that we have been given in life there is still a need for us to create wealth to be able to fully enjoy these things.

If we earn a good income then we can afford to provide healthy food for our families which will in turn hopefully ensure remaining in good health.

In the event that any of the family does become sick then if you have succeeded in creating financial wealth then you will be able to afford private healthcare for your family and will not have to wait on endless waiting lists for a diagnosis to be made. Therefore treatment, should it be required, would be given quicker and would therefore be more effective,

Making a good income can also help you to be able to not only reduce your debt but could also help to reduce financial hardship for any family members or friends especially if your parents now rely on a pension as their income.

It also can ensure that you allow your children to further their education by being able to fund their university fees. This will help to provide them with better opportunities to prosper in their lives.

Your own personal wealth is generally determined by what you want from life. Some people might want to become a millionaire whilst others may merely be contented to create enough income to be able to pay the bills with a little left over for enjoyment.

For me creating wealth is about being able to create financial stability whilst also being able to spend quality time with my family. Achieving a healthy work/home balance is very important to me.

I have been very fortunate to have been able to achieve this equilibrium by starting to work from home. I have been in business for over twenty years but had previously not seen my family as often as I would have liked to as I had to travel to my business premises and was accountable to all my staff. Now that I run a business from home all that has changed. I now live a healthier more family enriched life. I am now able to live a healthier lifestyle spending time enjoying doing things like cycling or taking a walk with my family as I can work flexible hours around their needs. I can also now make every one of their school concerts as I no longer have to deal with staffing issues at short notice. I am fortunate that I can literally make wealth as I sleep as my internet based business is open twenty four hours a day making an income for me.

To me wealth is not about achieving a superior status in life. It is about being able to make enough money to provide the financial stability needed to support my family and friends and to be able to enjoy quality time with them. I have been lucky to find a business opportunity that is both enjoyable and rewarding without the normal stresses associated with business hence providing me with a contented and better quality of life.

Re: Millionaire or Happyness? Re: Millionaire or Happyness? - [quote="mphcoach":lgfsn9gb] I recently watched the movie 'In Pursuit of Happyness' and was rather disappointed that the 'happiness' achieved was merely the accumulation of wealth. [/quote:lgfsn9gb] Money definitely can make things easier, but of course the main wealth in life is health. If you do not have your health you do not have anything, as anyone who suffers from a chronic disease can tell you! 1) Health 2) Family (whether it's you and your relatives, or you and your own spouse and rugrats) 3) Enough money to live comfortably First thing a parent should do for their kid is start them with a savings account. Even if you only get 1% interest these days - and how obscene is that! - it gets them accustomed to the idea of saving. Too many people these days spend up to their income, and, thanks to credit cards, beyond. That's one of the main barriers to developing wealth - digging a pit when you're young that you have to spend the rest of your lfe digging out of.

Allen (co-author of Chicken Soup for the Soul) 2002 Jacket: Is it possible to make a million dollars in only one minute? The answer just might surprise you. [This book] is an entirely new approach, a life changing "millionaire system" that will teach you how to: 1. Create wealth even when you have little or nothing to start with 2. Use the power of leverage to build wealth rapidly 3. Overcome fears so you can take reasonable risks Use "one minute" habits to build wealth over the long term ...Here are two books in one, fiction and non-fiction, designed to address two kinds of learning so you can fully integrate these life-changing lessons. On the right-hand side pages you will find the fictional story of a woman who has to make a million dollars in ninety days or lose her two children forever. The left-hand pages give the practical, step-by-step non-fiction strategies and techniques that actually work in the real world.
Re: Gap Between Rich and Poor Widens Re: Gap Between Rich and Poor Widens - The problem ultimately becomes that the rich have access to more through their wealth, like the education one needs to get a good, high paying job, while the poor don't. The poor face a number of challenges (aside from just a lack of wealth) that the rich don't. For example, due to the enormous amount of stress that is usually associated with the sorts of jobs that low-income people can secure, they tend to get sick frequently. Which means that they will either have to miss work or the performance at their job will suffer. Not to mention the hopeless feeling that comes along with working a dead end, minimum wage job. It doesn't surprise me that the gap between the rich and poor is widening to the point that people are starting to take notice. How to fix it however, I have no idea. While I know that some people would jump at the chance to earn more and possibly get the education that they need to get a better job, I know that others would find a way to scam the system and not do anything to better their situation at all. It's a vicious cycle.
Re: If you're absent during my struggle, don't expect to be pres Re: If you're absent during my struggle, don't expect to be pres - That is why the bible says that wealth has many friends and the family of the poor run away from him
me too me too - Wow! Last night was incredible. I think Trump should have brought Omarosa back into the board room and fired her. She is like toxic waste. No matter what Piers did, he made the effort at the very beginning to put it behind them for the purpose of this task. She is gross and makes women look bad. I cant believe that Lennox nor Carol stepped up to ask them to stop. In any case, I agree as well, what the heck does this show have to do with being entrepreneurial. Right now its only about how big and wealth their individual black books are. pathetic. in fact, its gotten so bad, I think I may just stop watching and go to bed from now on.
